Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding will be out this November, new trailer unveiled

Hideo Kojima's absolutely wild looking game, Death Stranding, has just gotten its official release date. In the latest trailer, we continue to see the bizarre imagery from previous trailers alongside some brand new gameplay. Also shown is main character Sam (played by Norman Reedus) exploring massive landscapes, fighting enemies in bulky yellow hazmat-like suits, and riding a transforming motorcycle. Capping off the eight-minute video is the day the game will launch: November 8, 2019, as an exclusive for the PlayStation 4.

Death Stranding” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

Yes, buy a $200 for a $60 exclusive movie. :ninja:
Stop calling it a movie, its obviously a game. You are not any better than the people calling this a "walking simulator" Everytime somebody tries to make something fresh and not the same boring multiplayer shooter they call it a movie and not a game.

Games are going to look more like movies because of the power of modern consoles. Why not use the full power of it to combine both movies and games to make a better experience for players? I'd much rather have a game with great looking cutscenes where I can run around nice looking places with a great atmosphere rather than playing the same generic multiplayer shooter with muddy graphics

It’s not often I’m sucked into hype, or pretty images for no good reason. But I’ve been gagging for this since day 1. Mostly because of Kojima’s track record but damn it shoe is a purdy game. Am on it like stink on shit.

Heck IMO the most "movie" games there are are games like Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain and Detroit yet those games do well and people like them. I don't believe Death Stranding will offer that little gameplay at all.
You can easily see that its not a movie. Kojima even called it an action game. Just from the trailer you can see the combat, different kinds of vehicles and stealth parts. It will probably have a mission system, something like metal gear solid 5 if you played that

Oh yeah I 100%'d Phantom Pain took me 255 hours, longest I ever played a single player game in one playthrough in my life.

I've beaten every Kojima directed game including Snatcher, Policenauts, the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake. He is awesome.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

With it using the decima engine I don’t think it will be coming to pc anymore. It belongs to Guerilla games and Sony owns them.

Yeah I think when it was first announced Kojima mentioned PC but then Sony stepped in and that came to an end.

Really sad about that tbh, I don't own a Pro and would've loved to play it on pc in 60 fps

Honestly I picked up MGS5 on launch day and loved it from start to finish. The gameplay, cutscenes are still great to watch and the atmosphere is great too. MGS3 is still my favourite but i'd easily put mgs5 on the 3rd rank, with MGS2 being on second. I really hope that Kojima makes a stealth game series sometime

so the whole world is stuck in limbo and at times, the wars of the past break into that reality and blablabla convoluted nonsense blablabla handful of random supranatural beings so things don't need logical explanations blabla norman redus with guns somehow fixes the world but only 4 games from now.

looks like it's going to be a bitch to control if i'm honest.

If we was to be serious for a moment. Yes, it is a game. It's advertised as one. But I do wish there was more details to the game than what I know so far. There is plenty of questions and little answers from such previews which is probably why it got the response or reputation it has now that you are against. I'm all for new fresh ideas and experiences, but communication helps a lot to understand them. I hope they will show off more gameplay during E3 about this. I played many games Kojima has produced and liked them, I just hope i will enjoy this too. :)

I'm curious as well if this will be a multi game series or not. Kojima is 55 he's probably only got a few games left in him, maybe 2-3 more tops because they take so long to create unless he does some PSN game or something.

I don't think so. Last time I bought a playstation exclusive game, it was a game first and foremost. :ninja:

Every exclusive bar a couple on ps4 have been fantastic, better than most exclusives we've had from them since ps2, I don't get how people just love passing judgement on things they haven't even tried.

It's just how some people are. Everything deserves a fair chance. But I mean if it's just jokes, then I don't mind so much. But it's hard to risk paying to play a game you may not enjoy, but you have to take them same risk to even know for sure.
