Wait I'm so confused. If Pokémon Home is like Pokemon Bank, then what good is it on a smartphone when your savegame is on Switch?
I'm guessing there will be a Switch version or the ability to upload and download Pokémon from your account will be built into SwoShi, thus making this app redundant.

Hoping that the Pokemon Home mobile app communicates with the Switch games over bluetooth (like Pokemon Go Park in Let's Go does) rather than online, that way I can use it on my hacked switch.

Because it is going to work with Pokémon go as well as the let’s go titles and the up coming sword and shield

Pokemon Home lets you store Pokemon GO/Let's Go pokemon AND Sword/Shield pokemon?

Yikes. I hope this doesn't mean Sword and Shield and similar in systems and gameplay to those. I wanted another mainline title and traditional setup.

Yea, but it needs to connect to your Switch save in some way, and we already have transferring Pokemon from Go via bluetooth in LGPE.

It honestly seems like something that should be a built in feature in Go and Swoshi, at least for the uploading and downloading of Pokemon into the game. I guess maybe the app is to manage your cloud boxes, which makes me wonder if there'll be a browser version too.

Personally I never really bothered with bank because I never raised any Pokemon worth keeping and I like to raise a new team when I start a new game.

Home is also a Switch App. Expect it to work across all the coming Switch Pokemon games, that's partly why its a separate thing. The other part is there's probably huge overlap between it and the mobile version.

One nice use for the mobile app is trading. So you don't need to lug your switch around everywhere just to trade locally.

For a clearer idea of what the roundup is talking about.

Looks like Pokemon Home will be accessed via both a Switch and Mobile app. Unsure how it will connect to Pokemon Bank though, perhaps the app will have a feature to login to your NNID to import your Pokemon from Bank.

I wish mobile games would stop getting pushed so much. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather pay once for a game that's actually a full experience than get something that's "free" but watered down and full of microtransactions. Unfortunately, companies are realizing that for some reason, mobile games are where all the money is at. Well, they exist, and even if I don't care about them that's fine I guess. I just hope we don't eventually lose console gaming entirely like it seems we will.

Also. Pokemon Sleep? w h a t

so is pokemon home some sort of pokemon bank? i dont actualy get it what it does?...
Yes, seems to be Pokemon bank for Switch games/PoGo. So Pokemon from Let's Go will apparently transfer to Sword and Shield, inheriting all the necessary 8th gen additions in the process I would imagine. Oh, would also mean access to gen 2 Pokemon in gen 8 from PoGo.
