Hi everyone, i´ve read this thread long ago and there´s no more updates from OP (as far as i know), so i´m presenting an alternative, one tool that maybe help someone interested in porting it to the switch, and it´s called "Attrack-mode", so basically it´s a front-end emulation tool, as a front-end it works with each existing emulator so onces it gets ported to the switch the job is done, we just need to use the emulators that works now.

PROS:
- it´s an open source program.
- runs on Linux, OS X and Windows-based systems.
- Attrack-mode have numerous skins and it´s easy to develop one so the comunity can help.
- it can work as a mini Snes, mini nes, mini gba, mini whatever, as long as you put your custom skin, emulator and roms.
- you can put custom music to the menu for a more enjoyable experience.
- the program can have multiple systems at the same time, and you can put one skin for each system.
- has a good integration with retroarch, (as far as i know is well developed for the switch)

CONS:
- it lags a bit in the menu (idk if is the version that i´m using or my PC).
- some options makes the program crash when using a bad design skin.
- I can´t find a way to return to the game selection menu other than closing the emulator completely (alt + F4), or selecting it from the windows bar.

a video showing how the menu works:

(as a new member i can´t post links)

The thread i talk about:

finally I leave the mini SNES skin used in the video

If the person that made the nes classic frontend for the switch would open source his code, it could easily be modified to make an snes classic frontend

yeap, pmd the creator, sevral dozen times, did not work, seems he dosnt want to do.

I,ve got the templates for the different editions, but he did not wanted to. so. o wells.

He could do it, dont know why he doesn't
if you have the old Nes classic homebrew you actually use it to launch other emulators
I just tried it with mGBA, you just have to replace the laines.nro inside the nes classic with the mgba.nro and rename it to laines.nro then you can replace any rom with a gba rom, just rename it the same way and rename the extention to nes and it will work

Mmm yeah that’s right. I used laines before I built in my own libretro frontend.

yeah, managed to do that, but then decided to move to forwarders, but then when samthebread came bck, returned to the frontend, however, i would still prefer, that the new snes launcher would accept somehow parameters, like the ones i mentioned on the thread.

Hmm, I can’t work on this much else without some support. Maybe I’ll open a patreon or something.

As it stands I’d have to redo this whole thing to with parameter support. Everything is baked in with the nro having both the emulator and menu all in one. Not ideal! Lot of work will have to be done to make this happen.

I think we all understand that.
But would be nice to use this as a frontend for other emulators instead of having a hardcoded one
