Hi everyone, i´ve read this thread long ago and there´s no more updates from OP (as far as i know), so i´m presenting an alternative, one tool that maybe help someone interested in porting it to the switch, and it´s called "Attrack-mode", so basically it´s a front-end emulation tool, as a front-end it works with each existing emulator so onces it gets ported to the switch the job is done, we just need to use the emulators that works now.
PROS:
- it´s an open source program.
- runs on Linux, OS X and Windows-based systems.
- Attrack-mode have numerous skins and it´s easy to develop one so the comunity can help.
- it can work as a mini Snes, mini nes, mini gba, mini whatever, as long as you put your custom skin, emulator and roms.
- you can put custom music to the menu for a more enjoyable experience.
- the program can have multiple systems at the same time, and you can put one skin for each system.
- has a good integration with retroarch, (as far as i know is well developed for the switch)
CONS:
- it lags a bit in the menu (idk if is the version that i´m using or my PC).
- some options makes the program crash when using a bad design skin.
- I can´t find a way to return to the game selection menu other than closing the emulator completely (alt + F4), or selecting it from the windows bar.
a video showing how the menu works:
