As long as its a different story and has new cool pokemon/evolutions i dont really care there isnt much pokemon can do beyond that seeing as the gameplay literally cant change without it not being pokemon anymore

Ultra Sun/Moon was an enhanced version and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee was a low budget remake.
GameFreak actually worked on Pokemon SwSh a lot.

Really hope they have pokemon in the overworld like in the Let's go Series...I kinda like that more RPG's are doing that these days.

it's gonna be mostly the same as any other mainline game. might even be a little hobbled as many first games on new hardware have been.

note that this doesn't really need to be a bad thing. know what pokemon is, i know what i want from the series and so far, it mostly delivered.

I think when people purposefully look for things to be disappointed in they will find them.

That's not to say you should turn a blind eye to things that are actually wrong with a game, but these days people are really overly negative about things, especially new entries in a series and see almost everything that isn't exactly the way it was or is too "new" to them is instantly bad and the people that make the games are just being lazy, as well as everything just being a "blatant cash grab".

I feel like the legendaries for this will both be Wolf looking Pokemon just opposite typing or maybe just one that can have 2 separate types. Just want to see some starter final evolutions so I can make a better decision.

I am a little bit "worried" about just another batch of new Pokemon which I can't and don't want to remember ^^V
Wouldn't mind a new Game like this having only like 10-20 new Mons instead of allways adding 100+ new ones.

The last 'proper' release was Sun and Moon on the 3DS in 2016, so it's been 3 years and a leap from 3DS to Switch, which I think more than justifies a new release this year.
Of course there were other games in between, but Ultra Sun and Moon was just the enchanced versions of Sun and Moon (which is standard, going back to Pokemon Yellow), and the Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu were remakes of Red and Blue.
I don't know how many people work at Game Freak but I wouldn't think development of either of those games took away much from development of Sword and Shield - I'd speculate Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu was the team getting to grips with developing for the Switch, practicing with a remake, before applying what they learned to the new games, so if anything that should suggest a better quality game this year because it's not their first Switch game.

No, they said exactly the opposite - that they're excited for a Pokemon game for the first time in ages because of it being on the Switch, because of the better technology.

Great news all round anyway, not just for us Pokemon fans, but it also means it's gonna get less of a focus on the E3 direct too, like has already been said (ditto with Mario Maker 2)

They have been making them worse and worse since Black and White. 4th Gen was the last great gen.
