Help anyone?Need help....
When I try to load a core I get this error message "Warning missing assets use online updater" but when i try to download a core it fails....
I've never really used RA before, so don't know my way around the menus. I've got it working fine on my Switch but how do I get my custom screenshots to show up? Let's say I have an NES romset, where do I put my NES screenshots and get them to show up in the UI? Is there a naming convention I have to follow, etc? Thanks.
Just leave this also here if someone is Interested:
You can find the latest nightly RetroArch Build here
If you want to show up your Roms properly, then you need to create a Playlist.
Make sure that your Folder Structure looks similiar to this:
Roms
|_GB
|_GBA
|_SNES
|_etc.
Copy your Roms to the corresponding Folder.
Open this Site in your Internet Browser .
Now for example, go into your GB Folder and press CTRL + a, drag and drop all the Roms into
your Internet Browser.

Repeat this Process with every Rom Folder.
Copy your Playlist.lpl Files to the retroarch\playlists Folder.

If you also want the Thumbnails to show up, then you need to name your Playlists like their corresponding Folders are named in the retroarch\thumbnails Folder. (If there's no Thumbnails Folder or no Thumbnails inside, then open RetroArch --> Online Updater --> Thumbnails Updater --> your desired System(s).) (You can also download the PC Version for this Step...)
Now Open RetroArch and check your Playlists for Missing Icons. Write down all the Games that have no Icons. Go into your Rom Folder and copy the Title of the Game and head over to the ex. retroarch\thumbnails\Nintendo - Game Boy\Named_Boxarts Folder and look for your Game.
Rename the GameIcon.png so that it matches your Game Title. (If there's no Icon, then you can download any Picture and rename it to your Game Title just make sure its .png you can also resize it).
If for some Reason the Icon still wont show up make sure there's no & in the name. If there's an & replace it with an _ .
BTW this Tutorial should also work on other Plattforms than the Switch.

RetroArch\thumbnails\YOUR_CORE\Named_Snaps
Thanks, I was being stupid thinking Thumbnails was not related to Snaps
So RetroArch\thumbnails\bnes\Named_Snaps - will do it for the bnes core?
No in your case it should be RetroArch\thumbnails\Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System\Named_Snaps.
But better let RetroArch do the Job. You can download the PC Version of RetroArch to download all the Thumbnails. Its much faster on PC! Just copy the Folders to your Switch and your'e done!
Ahh, yes - I just downloaded the NES set of images inside my PC version of RetroArch. It downloaded and extracted but nothing is coming up.
You need to make sure the Rom Name matches the Image or vice versa.
Maybe you also need to enable Thumbnails in RA Settings --> User Interface --> Appearance --> Thumbnails + Left Thumnails?!
If you want to remove some button assignments, just use one button like Like L3 or R3(a buttom that you never use) and change all the buttons you want unmap to that buttom. Works sort of like delete, since there's no other way.I have a small problem with button config in MAME 2003 core. How to unbind a button in an in-game MAME menu? I tried every button, but I can only change buttons, but not unmap a button.
Since I've never seen anyone get Retroarch from the hb store I'm going to go ahead and recommend you just get the lastest nightly here

SXOS, the N64 cores, the one that you cant copy files larger than 4gb onto, accessing through album and hbmenu. You need to give some details what CFW? what core? Exfat or Fat32? How are you accessing Retroarch?
How can I update all cores from the retroarch UI at once.
