I was following every step, step by step after I received my sx os pro. took a copy of my nand, made an emunand. hours and hours of waiting and once then, i still had to activate my license, so I clicked on boot emunand and it told me to activate it, that it could go online on the switch and I clicked continue, then it shut down. Now it won't turn on even if I press the power button, take the micro sd off, etc. got my license online still, but this is annoying because I don't know what could have gone wrong?

You probably have autoRCM on.
Press for 12 seconds power button and try again to send payload/inject dongle. If still it's not working, Press for 12 seconds and wait 15 minutes before trying again.

And be sure that dongle is charged.

It did boot now, don't know how I did it. I thought everyone always advised to activate AutoRCM before anything else right, am I wrong? However for some reason now, cfw nor ofw will boot

AutoRCM is adviced above anything else only for updating firmware. Thanks to that you can still downgrade without issue with efuses. If you want to use OFW, it's not adviced to use AutoRCM.

It's kind of messy, I did uninstall AutoRCM, but now my switch won't boot into sx os even with the jig, etc put inside as the first time and pressing +. plus i get a message saying the system can't read the micro sd card

sounds like your SD card is corrupted or something which would cause it to not boot CFW. you might have to reformat it and make sure to set it to fat 32. If your SD card is an sdxc or the fat 32 option doesn't show up look for a fat 32 formatter program on google.

I did format it as exfat before I did any of the process. however it was my bad, i didn't put the jig correctly. Everything seems to be working now without problem. however, in order to boot my switch from now on, will I have to use the jig and the dongle each time? or is there another way around this?

If you have AutoRCM enabled, you need the dongle every time. without AutoRCM, you also need the jig. At least I assume that's all autoRCM does as I don't know how you would manage to push the payloads without the dongle. No way arround it as of now but likely in the future. Also you're going to want your SD card formatted fat32 if you're using certain homebrew or you might risk corruption but you might be fine.

my original switch actually failed after about six months, and it was legit. it's the first Nintendo console of mine to ever fail (I think due to a power surge). it was still under warranty though. Nintendo said that the NAND had gotten corrupted, so all saves were lost. ironically, I could've retained my saves if I had hacked it.

You're just way fucking weird, and annoying as all hell.
Is because what I'm telling is basically true. And the true sometimes is annoying. Here the point is that the whole procedure is complex.
Takes time and if you miss to save the back up after hours on the PC and after u mod the switch you can't go back to the original firmware. Crazy.
Here the answer from the team....

His is generally related to cheap/fake SD card or corrupt file system.

Try to format the card from within nintendo OS using the console. That should
fix it.

I tried 3 SD card, all invalid...
ANyway.....good luck!

What I got from that...
The process is super simple, and I got everything I needed to modify my switch for free, but I got to learn and read, and I cant handle that.

1)If the process was super simple as you say we didn't need a forum

2)I'm thinking badly about these modding team and about their connection wth some of strange, at the the end modding means install unknown software.....

3) Definitely not useful to save time and money with the risk of be banned

4)Mod should be so easy and for all and It's not so, that means have control and power

hacking or exploiting a system usually becomes easier once more is known about the system and vulnerabilities are found. I've read a lot about the 360, ps3, vita, and wii u, and I've tested most things. my tutorials were written as basic as possible. I'd usually go through the actual process while writing them to make sure I didn't leave anything out. sad thing is that I never played any games on those systems aside from the wii u. to me, modding the systems was more enjoyable than the games. however, I've kept my switch legit just to play some new games. I don't plan to hack or else I'll probably get into modding again, then not play any games. it's been years since I've played any new games until recently. :)

Looks it's not depends from the guides....depends from the memory you have.
Personally I have a photographic memory
I'm allergic to guides.
I just need a list of products to insert to download from a trusted source ....
and a simple and fast process (this is impossible if you have to do the back up) to operate
This is what I have been saying for days on this forum....since there are different components that make of an installation a good installation we need an auto-installer .....
The back up before the mod and the hang-ups with the SD card are stupid.
They should be bypassed.

I think that's the right point.
In the current state of this business May 2019 Modding the Switch is again not worth. And the risk, if you are not a superexpert kid, is that if you miss to save the back up u burn the console. Also who enjoy modding like lifestyle, try to mantain their console legit to play online. Obviously....
Now after have lost 3 days and more behind the mod affair and without have a backup on a atmosphere (wtf is that!?!?!) I will try the miracle to return to the original firmware. I did also a full system restore, I'm again viewing 8.0.1 (AMS 0.8.10). No way to delete this shit without backup.....-__-

the 360's update procedure can be dangerous as well. burning efuses on that system would prevent downgrading. that system's exploit relies on the hypervisor from kernel 4xxx, which allowed running unsigned code. when you update, you have to include patches in the update file or else you'll destroy the hack. originally, you had to know which hacking method was used, motherboard version, and cpu key. the cpu key is still needed, but now all other information can be derived from a NAND dump, so if you had bought the hacked system from someone before that and didn't know this information, you could potentially brick the console updating.

This is pure gold.

He just keeps whining after he fell for SX OS, paid them, waited for the dongle, probably forgot to make a backup and in the end failed to boot.

When he says "mod team" (how ever he spells it) he only ever means TX. So the ppl that got his money for xci.
After that he probably learned that he could have all he wanted for free with atmos and raged the second time.

In his other tread (that got locked yesterday bc of his spam/trash talk) he started ranting about how everyone should just buy cracked games, like that makes any sense at all...
He did not understand that there are no cracked games and that in order to play backups you need CFW.
In his eyes CFW in its current existence is not a hack, too complicated and inferior to cracked games, because you can not just run games.

He is litteraly unable to copy 2 zips to his sd card, put it back into the switch, connect it to his pc and push fusee_primary.
Stop trying to help him, he neither wants help nor could he learn from anything you post.
