Hi! I modded my GBA in fall of 2017 (40 pin) and have been using the white tab screen with a type b ribbon adapter. It looked good enough to use for me but after a while I started to get a bit annoyed about the visible lines when moving up and down, I think that has to do with interlacing? So I bought the type A adapter instead, and proceded with the mod to clear up the image from looking all washed out etc. (Removing components and putting a jumper cable between two points I've forgotten the name of).

I did this so that I could use the system's potentiometer to adjust the display, and I got those lines to disappear almost completely, so I was really happy with the results.

Now though, I've noticed these faint lines, they look kind of like irregulations in brightness or something, and they appear every now and then, after the system's been on for a couple of minutes. They move smoothly up and down, and they are too horizontal.

I've tried to capture it on video but it's unfortunately very hard to catch on video, so hopefully my explanation is good enough.

Anybody know of a fix for this? Would Bennvenn's voltage regulator board be an idea?

Thanks!

*edit*
I've tried covering the back of the display with electrical tape but it didn't improve the issue unfortunately.

I just assume your description so maybe I'm wrong, but I think the problem might be occur by LCD cable port on the GBA board got loosen in center.

Try put some force with finger in the center that I marked red dot, and see if screen changed. BTW if this IS the problem, it's very hard to fix.

Thanks for the suggestion! I guess it does look like it's petruding a bit in the center, unfortunately I don't really have the know how to have it on while opened, but I could try to figure out a way to keep pressure on it while closing it.

Judging by the photo, would you guess that is the problem?

Okay so I don't think that is the issue after testing a bit. My biggest fear would be the screen is faulty, but I don't really think so. Could it be the power switch? It has the classic flickering of the green/red light going on.

I recently switched out my old pcb for a new one, after failing a power switch replacement peocedure on the old one, I ended up damaging the board. The new pcb had some corrosion on the battery connectors, so I took them out and replaced them woth my old clean ones. I'll look around the pcb for any damage.

Could the probmem have something to do with the 40-pin mod regarding unsoldering of components? I have 0 bridges on the connections so nothing should be shorting. I guess it could still be the connector port for the screen.

Sorry for being all over the place with this.
