The North America collection will not fit on a 2TB. You need at least 3TB for the full NA collection.
But is that with the games stripped down to game only partitioned .wbfs files, or is that full ISO files that waste space? Besides, I only have a 320GB harddrive, and there's only about 200GB of AAA games. The rest is crap or shovelware.

Even just wbfs files, you will still need over 2TB.

Dang, I think i'm about to learn something here lol soooo prepare for some possible noob questions here....

1. What is the difference between .wbfs files vs the ISO files? (I understand that an ISO file is the disk image and pretty much everything is on it but what does one actually take away to get a .wbfs file?)

2. When you say. "there's only about 200GB of AAA games." what does AAA mean? I assume that means something to the effect of "games worth playing" lol

I have noticed with the few Wii's I have modded that there is alot of games I would never get caught playing lol. At times you could say its almost overwhelming to see all those games on there.

1.) Using Wii Game Manager, you can import an ISO file and "scrub it" to be a smaller file containing just the game partition, saving massive drive space.

2.) Yes, I mean the best of the best games worthy of buying new, triple A titles. I simply skip all the trash games, I don't need them for my Wii library.

Jayro got the basic for you I can kind of elaborate a bit. An ISO in size is 4.7GB(if I remember correctly, aint touched any in awhile). You can easily turn an ISO into a .wbfs and trim most games by well over half in size. There are a few I remember going down to like less then 20mb. The size difference can be crazy. You still need over 2TB for the NA set though.

Triple A's are just the big games, by big devs.

New question here..
Were there any Triple A games not by Nintendo for the Wii? I can only think of the Monster Hunters.

You beat me to it. Interesting fact that fig2k4 described way back when, even when you use wii backup manager to transfer an ISO, it will be sparsed so that it contains the same compressed space as a wbfs file. But if you use any other app (like windows explorer) to copy the sparsed or "compressed" ISO, the copy will to back to the original size. For this reason and probably others wbfs is preferred over even sparsed ISO's. There's your useless, but hopefully interesting, random wii fact for the day, lol.

Forgot about Red Steel, was one of the few I played through. HOD was alright, the COD's were like half a AAA for Wii. lol
Red steel was the shit! I never managed to play through the sequel, somehow it didn't captivate me like the original, or maybe I needed to give it more time to hook me, who knows.

CoD was ridiculous, especially watching ppl trying to aim with a wiimote. Honesty I spent more time trying troubleshooting alt dols or IOS reloading issues than I did playing the game, lol!

Did you try HOD overkill? That was pretty entertaining, but not as good as the ps3 move edition

I dont remember a second one even coming out! COD was just bad on the Wii, between all the updates we had to work around that did nothing, and the lack of DLC, and any kind of real support just killed it. I am pretty sure that Overkill was the one I played in the arcade, it was awesome if it was, never did any others on the wii though.

I don't think Overkill ever came out in the arcade. It is NOT kid friendly, every other word is F... literally. And there's ass and all sorts of adult talk. I can't imagine it being at any arcade where kids would frequent.

Definitely check it out. If the word "goregasm" doesn't sound familiar you definitely haven't played it, lol.

That was on the Wii? For sure need to go check that out just to see it in a Nintendo game. And yea, that wasn't what I played in the arcade.

Don't forget...
Wii Game Manager > Wii Backup Manager
I doubt that very much, but since I've only ever used wii backup manager I can't really fairly judge one over the other. All I know is that wii backup manager is definitely the more popular choice and it works great. If wii game manager truly is better it must be insane... I find it hard to believe because I cant think of any broken or missing features from wii backup manager so unless there's some key differentiator I can only picture an app that can at best match it.

I did tried Wii Game Manager a long time ago, don't like it.

It can't even list my games in x:\wbfs\gamename [ID6]\[ID6].wbfs (the de-facto usbloader standard). I wonder if it will copy the games to a drive with this folder structure automatically. Unless something has changed.

Wii Backup Manager will list all my games in this folder structure, rename all the folders/games according to Wiitdb, transfer iso/wbfs to another drive, converts to wbfs and place the files in correct folder structure.

Just my personal choice.

I appreciate all the feedback. I'm gonna have to do some research and figure out the AAA list so that i can allocate a proper or more entertaining collection of wii games.

It's good to know that .wbfs files sound more preferred than an .iso file. Wii Backup Manager sounds a little bit more interesting however from the sounds of alot of other, also well educated individuals, that Wii Game Manager is more proficient. Torn between the two lol

WiiFlow is really great for a wbfs collection and handheld/GameCube/N64 emuation I still use it to this day on the WiiU

Really once your games are in wbfs format I found that managers are not very necessary, so doesn't really matter which you use. I use an app called good sync for managing all sorts of data, but there's a free similar app called free file sync or something similar. An app like that handles apps and roms in addition to wii games
Edit: or the traditional drag and drop method works too

I've only ever used Modmii. I've modded maybe 7 wii consoles and all worked flawlessly. The reason I've only ever used Modmii is because it was the first one I tried and since it worked perfectly, I've had no reason to use anything else.

I wouldn't call myself an xflak fanboy but I have much respect for him and all of his quality work. I didn't hear of him through this forum but it was an old community that is no longer online. They had a complete softmod guide that I used many times.
