All is well actually. I just recently hack my New 3DS XL and enjoying all its perks. After installing some new CIAs, I decided to take a break and put my 3DS to sleep mode and when I came back, I am surprised to see a notification light blinking blue and received a message about a system update. I decided not to update my system because I am afraid it might ruin the hack and my console. I also check google if there is really a new system update for 3DS but failed.

My question is, what is this update? Is it safe to install? Current Sys 11.9.0-42U

P.S. All of this happen just now.
P.S.S I'm a noob in hacking so please bear with me.

Thanks in advance.

You update luma first and then to 11.9 - if you update the firmware first, the 3ds will boot to a black screen and you'll have to replace the updated luma file manually. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

He is already on 11.9 he said so in the op.

@LeoDGreat did you delete any system titles like the h&s app for instance? Because that is why you will be getting a system update notice even though you are on latest firmware.

I deleted Injected GBA games because it is corrupted and giving me error (ARM9 data abort) a while ago but its ok now. I also uninstalled some 3DS games to free up some space (via FBI).

I manage to fix that error by deleting some title in red color and it magically fix my problem. I know I deleted some that are not related to the corrupted file because I only guess so I think you're right.

So is it safe to update the system?

If you have updated your system and Luma while doing CFW, I think it's completely safe to update now.
Perhaps it only will download some system files that may have been deleted by any way.

By the way, I also had this problem with some VC games installed from cias I got in a random site, and have solved by importing seed using FBI.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
