So it is ok to transfer the entire 64GB card over. This has no files I have added manually that are over 4GB

thanks
If you use exFAT, you don’t have to care about file size and you can simply copy and paste everything. Keep in mind that exFAT is known for corruption and isn’t recommended. You should use FAT32 instead.

I dowloaded an XCI file through a reliable source: team sonic race. for some reason it does not give any info back when using an backup manager tool (languages.... firmware...) All the others have no issue.. Using the option to look for an info update on the net... it does not give a cartridge art or description.. or all the other missing info
Is that an indication to doubt the file?

Is there a way I can boot into Atmosphere (Vanilla, not KOSMOS) with sigpatches with the latest Hekate version? There seems to be changes and it seems I need to make a manual hekate_ipl.ini file.

Try another source. Maybe the xci is faulty.

Thanks

Atmosphere is a CFW. Kosmos is basically an Atmosphere + Hekate + sigpatches package made by Team AtlasNX.

You can use Hekate and sigpatches with Atmosphere without Kosmos, but they make it easier because it's a bundle.

Hi -

Many thanks for the help everybody has posted here.

Two questions please, I am getting started:

I have a brand new switch, unpatched.

My setup will be to use a MicroSD formatted as FAT32 as primary SD card. I will not use exFAT for the SD card.

Then, I will use an external USB drive formatted as exFAT to install .nsp and .xci that are greater than 4gB on the FAT32 SD card, without having to do any splitting myself. I will use SX OS to do this. I read this tip in another forum post.

First, when creating emuNAND, do I select the option for MicroSD as Files or MicroSD as partition? I am using FAT32 for the microSD.

My Second question, in choidujour, when I get to the screen where I can select an "exFAT" option (or not), do I select the NON-exFAT option, or the exFAT option?

I am assuming I should use the latest version of choidujour: 1.0.2?

Files on SD leave the emunand partion as files on the card, hidden partition create a separated hidden partition, if the card get corrupted the emunand goes bye bye as file on SD. You want to update ChoidujourNX with the exFAT option even if you only want to use the sd card as FAT32.

Thanks, so best to use hidden partition for emunand then?

It is up to you, I am using hidden partition on one of my units.

Thank you, one last question:

The switch is brand new and unpatched.

Before even inserting SX Pro dongle, should I first update the console to the latest OFW 8.0.1 using the regular official way to update the firmware through Nintendo? And then, back up the sysNAND and create the emuNAND? Seems like I would not need to use Choidujour if I did that.

More recent versions have proven to be very hard to use SX and CFW with, best to keep it at a nice firmware. Make a nand backup of the current version! I have a backup of v5.0 yet my switch is on v7.0 while I regret doing but I dont know why I should even bother to go through bugs and errors to downgrade

No don't update, leave the firmware as low as possible and create the emunand and update that via ChoidujourNX.

My switch ran out of battery while on autorcm. Now the switch does not charge and does not do anything at all. How do i get it charging again?
If you didn't already figure this out...
If your Switch has autoRCM, and you do not send a payload, it will just show a black screen when it boots. This black screen is indistinguishable from the Switch just being off. The system will not charge while on this black screen. When you plug in the system to charge it, the system tries to power on. However, since you're not injecting a payload, it just stays on the black screen. Since it can't charge on the black screen, the system does not get charged. The way to fix this is to plug in the system, hold down the power button for a good 10 seconds to turn it off (since it's on the black screen), and wait five minutes for it to charge. Then unplug it from the charge and turn the system on while injecting the payload. Once you have the system actually booted, you can put it back on the charger to let the battery charge the rest of the way.
If it doesn't work the first time, don't panic. You probably just turned the system ON whenever you held the power button instead of OFF. It's impossible to tell whether the system is on or off without injecting the payload. If it won't boot with the payload injected, it means the battery is still dead and to try charging it again. And if you're using something like an SX Pro dongle, make sure the dongle is charged as well (takes less than five seconds to charge it).
