So, new to hacking, done a couple of soft mods here and there but the vita was the biggest.

I will start from the beginning, I downgraded from official firmware 3.70 to 3.60 using the trinity hack, installed enso with vitashell/molecular and the system update blocker.

Everything was going great and i was installing games to ux0 and playing them, i tried a couple of games that i found out may need 3.61 or above so in my idiot noob understanding of the hacks I attempted to factory reset and format thinking that the hacks and new files would all be wiped and i would be returned to the official 3.70 software to restart the hack and put 3.65 on to play the games that wouldnt work. you can guess what happened there lol

The problem i have is that enso didnt get wiped, the psvita is still loading the molecular logo instead of the playstation one on startup (result of enso?) and the block updates change to the system settings seems to be still functioning as i cant update using the systems options or the safemode boot menu.

Is there anything i can do to re-apply the hack software to the vita to get it back to a functioning state or is there a way to do the factory reset i was looking for? I did attempt to put Vitashell back on the console but get an error when trying to open it.

Any help would be appreciated.

yeah, you need to uninstall ensou first before installing new firmware. that should wipe it clean. traces will remain even after uninstalling, so you have to reinstall the firmware afterwards.

Update!

I have managed to get henkaku, ensu and molecular back on, put update blocker on and unlocked the options for updates.

If i just run the standard update will it wipe the whole console?

it won't wipe the memory card. it also won't wipe certain files in other partitions. here are a few: http://wololo.net/2017/08/02/properly-back-psvitas-activation-files/

the act.dat is psn activation, the system.dreg is the registry, system.ireg is needed to decrypt the system.dreg, and I think the myprofile.dat is for remote play (not sure). there are several other files that won't be erased.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, a system restore will wipe everything. I think it even formats the memory card, since all of those files, on and off of the memory card, are tied to the same account.

I've never used ref00d before, since I don't play the vita. my memory cards are full anyway. I did change my account id to all 0s in the system.dreg once. it made the folder on the pc, but it forced me to format the memory card.

If the memcard is used in a psvita with a different PSN, it requires you to format it. But if you have h-encore, you can unlink the memcard so it can be used in any psvita. Unlink memcard is in Henkaku settings. But why did you change your account id to all 0s?
