Microsoft should never have charged full price for Halo 2 since it's based on Halo 1's engine and therefore not a sequel. They did such a bad job at hiding it that it even still has Blood Gulch and Battle Creek.

And get a load of Pokemon Stadium 2, it's literally just Stadium 1 but with new mechanics, opponents, Pokemon and moves.

Hope it's not as barebones as the first, but I'm not holding my breath.

I mean... after watching this video you should now easily be able to decide for yourself how "barebones" it is or isn't. If not then by the end of the day I'm sure there'll be a whole swarm of analysis videos on YouTube to help you make up your mind. It looks pretty feature packed to me.

Damn I was excited for the Mario 3D World style until it seemed like "2D World"...

It was never going to be proper 3D. In all of the trailer videos it's never been shown off as anything but 2.5d.

that was fucking stupid, 90% of it was just switch online bullshit and they confirmed basically nothing that wasn't already theorized by gamexplain

There's a big difference between having a theory and something being confirmed. GameExplain also suggested that online multiplayer probably wouldn't happen, and it was confirmed to happen in this direct. They were also way off the ball when they made their theories about the anti-gravity which we now know is a direct result of switching between day/night mode in certain themes (something GameExplain didn't guess in any of their videos).

I don't see why it [online multiplayer] wouldn't be in if it was in the last one

It wasn't in the last one. It is in this one.

Because it is. It doesn't bring anything new to the table except a couple of gimmicks and Nintendo just charges full price for it.

If you seriously think there's nothing new between Mario Maker and Mario Maker 2 I suggest you probably stop gaming because I doubt there'll ever be a sequel to any game that will please you. They were valid criticisms of Mario Kart 8 and New Mario U, but those games were exactly that, and released as such.

Oh I wasn't talking about everyone else, so apologies there if I offended ya.

I was more talking about the group that calls any sequel to a Wii-U game an "enhanced port" when I said "you lot".

Some people just like to moan. It probably helps them feel justified pirating it.

Are we all really going to gloss over and not even mention the random Super Famicom logo appearing part way through? Doesn't it seem odd to anyone?

I was about to mention that, I thought it was a video glitch in the stream, but it was like a subliminal message, as it only lasted a few frames. Something's definitely up with Snes and E3, I mean, the timing is perfect.

Bit sad there's not mix/match with 3d world, but it's understandable. Also mario 2 USA would require different stuff as well, so I understand its absence.

They addressed a lot of issues. They even made the "code" for levels a lot shorter to help in sharing them. With all the variation, there's going to be some massive amounts of innovation and brilliant puzzles. Well, 90% terrible, but 10% brilliant. Very excited about this. Glad they listened to the community and fixed a lot of the more "annoying" things.

Going to be a brilliant party game too, come to think of it.

Sincerely hope the multiplayer is offline too. :/

Of course it is, Nin understands that that we will want to couch play with our family/friends,
they are not that dumb.

This game looks amazing! I hope that emunand for atmos is out by the time this gets released. Would buy this
and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for online play.

At least switch online is cheap.. gonna need it after this game:shy:
The price is literally negligible. If Netflix was priced so cheap, everybody would have their own subscription instead of leeching off others'.

Naturally, I don't approve of paid online for consoles at all, but it was inevitable for Nintendo to join in after the other two showed it to be profitable.
