The horror of an extra click lol. In any case, you’ll see eventually.

Yea games from the eshop are split already from the store (he must be pirating games then if he has to manually split). You're right, he will see eventually that exfat is garbage.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I was using the gdi's compressed to chd I copied over the gdi's again and it works.
lol compressed to CHD actually "compressed" the textures eh?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

specifically looking to emulate sonic titles
such as sonic xd
and sonic adventure battle 2

SAB2 is borked, SAB1 works fine (with minor graphical stuff) Not sure about SXD.

im gonna try anyway but can we use gdi/bin formats? if so can it be in a subfolder within the sd:/reicast/ folder?

looks like it can be in a folder but you have to add it in the settings :)

I am using split bins with a GDI file like this:

Code:
(As an example!)
SD:/Reicast
     /Reicast/Data (Bios files)
     /Reicast/Games
     /Reicast/Games/Sonic Adventure
     /Reicast/Games/Sonic Adventure/sonic1.gdi
     /Reicast/Games/Sonic Adventure/sonic1_track1.bin
     /Reicast/Games/Sonic Adventure/sonic1_track2.bin
   --so on and so on--

Considering there are no such games as "Sonic Adventure Battle 2", "Sonic Adventure Battle 1", or "Sonic XD", you're going to have a really hard time running those on anything.

If you (and the original poster) meant "Sonic Adventure DX" and "Sonic Adventure 2: Battle", you should look at the Dolphin emulator, since those are GameCube games.

Yes. The sonic games are not known for logical naming conventions. Whatever sonic adventure 1 and 2 are named on Dreamcast, whatever. <3

Because Bleemcast improved the graphics of some PS1 games, such as the mentioned Metal Gear Solid.

Sorry, for some reason i was thinking pcsx rearmed was at a point where 2x resolution was no problem, thus being a way better option.
i guess i had that mixed up.

Ok whatever, I'm not the one interested in Bleemcast. No idea why you seem to care so much about something so trivial.

chd should work. did you create those chd images yourself? from the gdi that works? I'm curious cause the chds are in theory a byte to byte identical image (when uncompressed)

Hey there folks,

I'm glad to introduce you reicast for switch. This is a very rushed release, expect bugs and many issues, but in the next days a more polished version should be in order. Also a more proper release, since we don't have yet automated builds for switch.
The current version has some caveats: although it uses JIT (so fullspeed! in fact can go at x2 the speed easily) there's no exception handling yet, therefor things like texture invalidation don't' work well. This can be very limiting for some games, whereas others won't show many quirks. In fact just the BIOS shows this behaviour, textures in dialogs won't get updated :D

Well that's it, this is a very alpha version, so expect most bugs to get fixed soon. You might also wanna check out reicast on Android or PC (at reicast.com)
I'd like to thanks flyinghead for this tremendous contributions (he's the one to thank for the armv8 JIT backend), and of course skmp and all the crew that keep reicast great (although unreadable!)

Edit: How to use it.
Yeah forgot to add that. You'll need the BIOS files at /reicast/data/dc_boot.bin /reicast/data/dc_flash.bin. The settings can be tweaked at /reicast/emu.cfg. I'd also place ROMs at /reicast on your sd card.
Notice that games using MMU won't work, that's WinCE games (I guess this list is reasonable: https://segaretro.org/Windows_CE).

Important: reicast needs some memory (like 512MB+), so launching the app via nb loader won't work if you use the Album thingy to launch it. This bit me during porting too. You need to launch a game (any game) and press the R trigger to enter the HB loader in "game mode". That should do.

Love, davidgf

Thanks davidgf but its possible a vita port, if not why?

Sword of the Berserk seems perfect during gameplay. The cut-scenes made me almost cry from laughing since the models (or parts thereof) start to randomly rotate before they pop back to the right location.

So I'm having trouble getting anything to work, a lot of them just crash when I press start or get to the main screen, I tried 2 games that they said were working, Jet Grind Radio, and Crazy Taxi, both cause me to have to reboot my switch, I tried Aero Wings and I got to the game menu, and then it crashed when I went to select a game mode, in fact the menu was jumbled and I couldn't read hardly anything. When putting the bios in I renamed dc_boot.bin, to dc_bios.bin, only because that's what I've been told to do in the past, I don't know if that is the reason but I know I must be doing something wrong if everyone else can seem to get a few games working.

Are you launching reicast with full ram acces (pressing R in some game icon)?
