I’m still on OFW 6.2.0, and so I haven’t updated SX OS for a while.
I still have to press down the power button for a while and then leave the dongle in for a few seconds in order to completely power off the switch - this because of autorcm.

Can someone tell me if this has been fixed in the newer versions of SX OS?

Thank you :)

SX OS 2.7.1 has yet to remedy this issue, my switch turned back on after about 15 seconds following a shutdown. i don't think the switch's firmware is what's important here but i'll mention that i'm on 7.0.1 nonetheless.
(atmosphere 0.8.4+ doesn't have this issue, so SX OS needs to catch up tbh)

It's a shame this is still an issue with SX OS.
Just to confirm, my method is a viable option to turn off the Switch completely, right? Or the powering off from the payload is an absolute necessity (and I did the wrong thing all this time)?

u did the right thing. just no need to use dongle. when u switch off using sxos it will reboot to rcm. hold power off again to shut down completely

Hold the Power button and select either Reboot or Shut Down (doesn't matter since the Switch will boot to AutoRCM right after). Then, hold the Power button for 12 seconds. Nothing will happen here, the screen will stay black, but it's normal.

That's it, your Switch is fully off.

That's strange, I remember needing the dongle in the Switch while doing so.
Easier without it anyway :)
