I've got Tinfoil 1.55 working fine with FTP but it seems slow to load, like super slow. Would HTTP work any faster? Are there any upsides to using HTTP instead of FTP?

the initial loading of the application. when it loads from my ftp it takes at least 10 minutes to load all the titles.

installing is fine, like 6-7 MB/s and thats totally reasonable. its just the launching of the program.

ftp has a a lot of protocol overhead with it, http will be significantly more responsive. The actual transfer speed wil be the same, http just feels snappier.

It sounds like you dont have [titleid] in the filename, so it has to read each file. If you do not wish to rename your files, switch to lithium and it will be fast.

Well, my ftp install speed are the same as yours.
I've been using usb installation with ns-usb loader+tinfoil, and speeds (write from pc to console nand) is about 40mbps. IF you can use usb-c cable, its damn fast.

yeah i think that was it, some files didn't have the [titleid] in my XCI folder. i don't mind the titleid in the filename, seems fine after i fixed them all.

i'll have to check out http, its always a pain to set up network stuff though don't feel like spending 2 hours reading and setting up.
