I'm looking in to buying a flashcard that I can use for ntrboot - but then I want to turn it in to a fully Twilight menu modified Flashcard (aka twilight menu runs as the main boot menu) - does anyone have recommendation for the best flashcard to get?

Any disadvantages to running from sd card instead of flashcart/real cart?

I own Megaman star force peagasus, but wanted to play dragon version. It looks to be fully playable and runs fine so far, so it should be no different than running from legit cart?

I think there are still a few games that still aren't properly compatible, and DSi Enhanced games don't work in DSi mode yet. Real carts can do both, obviously, and most flash carts don't have compatibility issues at this point.

However, at this point, running from SD is pretty viable. I've tried many games without issue, with the most I've had to do being to keep my settings a certain way as a base (don't even need any special per game settings for anything I've tried yet).

This is my settings layout if you're curious, as it seems to be the most compatible set up for me:
Run in: DS mode
ARM9 CPU Speed: 133 MHz (TWL)
VRAM boost: On
Force sleep mode patch: Off
Slot-1 launch method: Direct
Sound/Mic frequency: 32.73 KHz

From what I can tell, if a game seems to be fully working, it very well may be. Compatibility is pretty high at this point. Some people still seem to encounter freezes or long load times in-game, but I've tested some of the same games without issue, so it may be misconfiguration, a bad dump, or something like that.

I honestly just booted it up selected a game and that was it. Should I even mess with the settings if I don't seem to have issues yet?

Hi, I'm new here, and I just bought a 3ds XL CFW Luma (I dont even quite understand that). I really want to play KH 358/2 days. I tried installing twilight menu, but when I launch it, it stuck on the black screen forever. Can anyone please help me or at least tell me something what's about it? Thanks a bunch for reading my comment!

Buying a pre-modded system has the disadvantage that you are probably not familiar with all the terms and the software used.

Try if the DS(i)-mode of you console works at all. Start any DS (not 3DS) cartridge or – if you have none at hand – open the DS version of “Download Play” and or “Internet Settings”. In case your DS(i)-mode is broken, normally the first thing to do is the troubleshooting page of the guide (assuming your CFW is up to date).

If you do not already have a backup of the internal NAND, it is a good idea to create one before any modification.

So I’ve been trying to get CV: Order of Ecclesia to run. When I load the game it stays on a black screen. I’m using a SD card and wondering if anyone else had a problem with this game specifically? I’ve tried different settings, but I get the same results.

I have zero issue running any of the DS Castlevanias. I would try a different rom as your base.

I tested the following games and they all work, if someone wants to add them to the compatibility list:

Front Mission
Nostalgia
Orcs & Elves
Robocalypse
Super Dodgeball Brawlers

All US ROMs.

Try holding L immediately after pressing A/START to launch the game (if you're not in the Acekard theme).
What region is your ROM?

What does holding the L trigger do? And it’s a US rom. I tried trimmed and untrimmed. I use the same rom on my DS with an R4, but I rather play it on my 3DS.
