DS Lite. Combine with R4 card and the Ez Flash 3 in 1 and it becomes one small machine with hundreds of games on one small micro SD card.

GBA SP 101 is a close second for playing GBA and GBC games in beautiful backlit goodness.

The GBA micro is the best. A true handheld. With flashcart you get gb/gbc with superb goomba emulator. I prefer its screen over the gba sp 101 one.
The problem: easy to lose. :(

I like DS library because of all kind of games but I still prefer gba library because of simplicity.

DS lite is second best handeld design after GBA micro(and with gba support). But cringe breaks.

DSI is all about DSI Flipnote, but no GBA slot. Nintendo could do a DSI with a GBA slot. I am very dissapointed with this. Beautiful design too.

I like the old 3ds/new 3ds. The XL are not handhelds. Too big.

I don't like that DS and 3DS library has very few FPS. The Wrist Strap of original DS was great and nobody used it. :(
I think GBA library had more FPS!

Hello.:)

Nintendo DS Lite for great compatibility with older Systems.

- plays original GameBoy Advance games (Slot 2)
- plays original DS games
- plays DS games from Slot 1 Flashcart
- plays GameBoy/GameBoy Color/GameBoy Advance games emulated from Slot 1 Flashcart
- plays GameBoy Advance games from Slot 1 Flashcart (if you have a Slot 2 Device)
- plays GameBoy Advance games 1:1 from Slot 2 Flashcart
- a little bit handier than the Nintendo DS

DS does not do GB/GBC original games. You can emulate them well enough with a GBA or DS flash cart but it does not do the original carts.

DS Lite and GBA Micro in terms of design, 3DS in terms of library
Are you doing some kind of "well it plays 3ds, ds and with emulation [all these]" sort of thing for the 3ds? Because there is no way I can get to the 3ds library being a fraction of what the DS or GBA had by themselves.

I just like library better. It has more games in the genres I care about, better iterations of my favorite Nintendo IPs (Mario, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Fire Emblem - all have better games on 3DS than DS), and it was also bigger on cool indies. I loved my NDS, but generally, 3DS wins for me.

Though in all honesty, Switch murders them all with cold blood - best Nintendo portable ever <3
