To launch your retail cart, press SELECT in the ROM menu, then select "Launch Slot-1 cart".

ROMs should be placed outside of "sd:/_nds", since the app cannot view it.
Thank you very much for clarifying!

I see that there was an option to download and use cheats

Can we use those with slot 1 games?

OK, so, I'm trying to set this up on my friend's 3DS, but for some reason, whenever I run the app, the app automatically closes and comes back to 3DS mode. Never faced such issues on my own 3DS.
Anyone might know why this happens on this specific 3DS?

Everything's updated: ntr-boot, updater and main app.
3DS is the same model as mine: Old 3DS. Same method: bootstrap
On my 3DS, runs 100%.
On this one: I open the app, it seems to enter in NDS mode, and then automatically closes the app, comes back into 3DS mode stating "Application closed" and "press home to go back to the main menu".
I also ran the TWLFix-CFW to try to fix the issue, but didn't made any difference.
GBA VC games are working OK on the unit.
All setup was made via Online Updater.

Just tried to use my NDS flashcart with the system and the same is also happening.
Ran TWLFix again, re-updated the system again to download the NDS mode from Nintendo, and again it closes the NDS application when it boots.
No idea why this is happening... =S

Just tried following this guide: https://github.com/AuroraWright/Lum...-get-an-auto-shutdown-with-gbadsdsiware-games

Manually installed the clean title "O3DS TWL.cia"... Still no luck...

Try deleting "settings.ini" at "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu".

Try deleting "settings.ini" at "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu".

No such file exists there. xD
But I see that the problem is really related to the TWL mode on the 3DS.
Just tried to install all these CIA:
  • - Old_3DS TWL_FIRM - v8817.cia
  • - TWL Version Data - v0.cia
  • - DS Internet - v2048.cia
  • - DS Download Play - v1024.cia
  • - Nintendo DS Cart Whitelist - v11264.cia
And still no luck. Even flashcart doesn't run...

Can you add pictures to the ds menu on the 3ds? im using an O3DS
If you mean the DSi Menu theme, then yes. Check the first post.
If you do mean the DS Menu (called the Quick Menu in the app), then no.
Not sure if someone already asked this. But is there a screenshot function? Thx!
No.

First, I like to thank you Robz8 for the incredible work you do, I already retire my DSTWO flashcard .
I have a New 3DSXL and after booting with TWiLight Menu++ v8.1.1 the game "Magical Starsign (E)", it freezes at a white screen, but it was working fine with TWiLight Menu++: v7.3.0 Rev 01 and nds-bootstrap: v0.17.0.

Try holding L when you start the game and see if it launches as expected while doing that.

@Psionic Roshambo i didn't go amd for one specific reason, the AI performance is way behind nvidia
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    i just got a 4070ti
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
oh yeah also DLSS is a pretty solid reason to go nvidia since fidelityfx is kinda crap
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and now with the rtx video upscaling, and sdr->hdr conversion, even more reason to go nvidia
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
both of which work well in potplayer
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
amd is a bit cheaper though
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
