I see. so since I only use SD install, time to remove it from my SD card thenIt does, you need to use USB install though, installing from SD card won't work with original tinfoil now
If you want SD card installing then Goldleaf 0.5 and lithium are alternatives
https://guide.sdsetup.comHello guys, I'm new into switch
I know that I have an unpatched unit and I'm on FW 6.2.
There is a guide where i can start to mod it? i'm noob sorry i need your help
Your NAND will be a bit smaller but in the end it doesn't really matter. Keep in mind that you should only use FAT32 because exFAT has corruption issues on the switch.Ill update to Firmware 8.0.1. Is there any reason not to choose "Exfat" when updating with ChoiDujourNX? haven't done it the previous times i updated, but maybe i should choose it this time?
1) 8.0.1 is the latest firmware and hackable. Personally I would update to 7.0.1 because there is for me no point to upgrade to 8.0.1. No game requires 8.0.1 yet (Maybe updates but idc).My current situation:
System version: 6.1.0
CFW: AMS 0.7.5 (Kosmos)
NSP installer: Tinfoil 0.2.1 (using Aluminiumfoil for USB install)
Firmware installer: ChoiDuJourNX version 1.0.1
Payload: hekate_ctcaer_4.2.bin
I have not followed the developments for several months, but heard that 7.0 brought new hack prevention. I want to update to a later firmware to be able to play more recent games (especially Final Fantasy X).
Questions:
1. To which exact firmware should I currently update? (What is the latest firmware that is hackable and has the most features?)
2. How should I perform the update, is it just using my current version of ChoiDuJour like before or do I have to keep other things in mind?
2. Which package of CFW files should I place on my SD card?
4. Do I have to use a new/different payload?
5. What is currently the best tool for installing NSPs over usb?
To anyone able to answer these questions (partially): thank you !
Just try to enter RCM, if you can you should be good to go, do your NAND backup and go with Kosmos.Hello!
First post and sorry if I'm going against board rules (search, etc.)
I bought a used switch from a friend (after checking the serial number - it's an unpatched unit) - but he has been playing online with it (He doesn't know the fw; I'll check it when I get the console)
Do I face any troubles? Is a CFW still possible? Am I locked out?
Or should i just visit the hompage you guys linked up there (even though I don't find any tips regarding my situation)
I don't care which CFW to use - I just want to play with backup games and maybe some NES/SNES Emulators.
Thank you very much for helping me!
You don't have to disable autoRCM before updating.I want to update sysnand and emunand to 8.0.1, I have autorcm enabled but I can't remember if I installed it with Hekate or SX OS (I think is the latest) so I want to disable it before updating, I remember that you must uninstall the autorcm with the same utility you used to install it or it can brick my system, is that true? and is there a way I can know for sure which one I used?
You can enter RCM on patched units too but you can't inject a payload.Nice, thank you.
Follow up question - If I cannot enter RCM, does that mean, I'm out of luck?
TegraRcmGUI (2.5) says:
- 7. After the splash screen vanishes and you see the Nintendo Switch logo, you can disconnect the Switch from your computer. You're in!
I suggest you go ahead with kosmos. Refer sdsetup.comHello all, I followed the ReiNx-Guide from here:
/guide-starter-pack-reinx-installation-and-use.512342/
and I got stuck here:
TegraRcmGUI (2.5) says:
"Uploading payload (mezzo size: 92, user size: 77762, total size: 143978, total padded size: 147456)...
Switched to high buffer
Smashing the stack!
Smashed the stack with a 0x7000 byte SETUP request!
Payload successfully injected
RCM device disconnected"
(more lines above that)
The image with the 2 anime girls appears for 0.5 seconds, then it's gone (no fadeout!).
The Switch does not react until I press Power for 15s.
I can't access .nro files, I think I'm still on stock firmware.
I'm on 8.0.0 with a Fat32 formatted SD card.
I used the most recent ReiNX.bin from here: reinx.guide/
Can anyone help?
I downloaded the .zip from sdsetup and injected Fusee_Atmosphere which seemed much more successfull. The switch did a thing and then booted. But I still can't do any new things. At this point I should find a or multiple of the .nro that I called from the downloaded .zip into the SD-card, right? I don't.I suggest you go ahead with kosmos. Refer sdsetup
I know this might be against the rules and i am not too much of a noob but can someone answer my question then take away this message.I am on latest kosmos version and the switch is in 7.0.1, I had a problem before that if i go to browser i normally go to google both on browsernx nsp and goldleaf nsp on google once i click the search line kind of thing the keyboard does not come up but the line comes then home button does nothing and so does the power button touchscreen works then it freezes, later i found out it was sys net cheat (this was like a month ago), Now it is happening again with no sys netcheat i just got emuiibo then deleted it and now the browser does not work(please do not say "Why can't you just use your phone or computer")
I need a fix plz
And fast
