SOLVED

Hello,

I upgraded my MicroSD to 512gb (Lexar 633x). I formated it to fat32 for better homebrew compability and Switch booted normally in to the SX OS 2.62 (tested also 2.7). Installing games to sdcard works just fine but .xci loading doesnt. SX os cannot load any splitted games. First I thought that I have a broken microsd card but I used h2testw (1.41) to test my sdcard, mut it was ok with no errors. I used that program to write card full of data and also verified it later. Cards speeds are also fine 70-80 mb/s read and 50-70mb/s write.

I formatted card to exfat and will test soon with a big .xci (non split) and inform what I find out.

256gb microsd works fine with fat32 and splitted .xci.

EDIT

Using 32k cluster size with fat32 fixed this issue! 64k cluster size did not work for me with this card.

Bigger SD cards are useless even when using Fat32. Too much write speed is bad for homebrew

Yeah I found out that with exfat filesystem both splitted and nonsplitted .xci work fine! So my new sdcard was not complete miss buy!

I would prefer fat32, because I use emunand and there is a lot bigger change of corruption of filesystem with using homebrew with exfat than fat32, isnt it?

i just grabbed the same card about a week ago, no issues so far and i've used xci loading just fine. fat32 65k cluster size.

Which program you used to format the card and was the cluster size 64k or 65k?

I am going to test 64k cluster size and report tomorrow, how it goes :-) If this fixes my sdcard problem, you are my hero!

I have a Samsung 512GB micro SD, which is formatted with FAT32, and no problems running split XCI files. I don't remember what my cluster size is, but I used fat32format to format it. I'm also on SX OS 2.5.3.

Not that people hate it, just that exFAT has higher rate of file corruption, that why people doesn't recommend it.

Yes I have read that and have read people repeating that and take that in faith , I have used exFat from day one when I got my sx pro mind you I don’t to stupid things like emunnand and saving my fuses and trying to play games from a higher f/w on a lower f/w and gave up on self banning and just enjoy using the system with latest F/w and not had any issues, maybe that is why, to much dicking around will stuff any system up, the amount of times I had to fix my wii or other people’s wii back in the day, not worth it
