TX Presents SX OS v2.7 BETA - Full v8.0.1 Compatible!

Good day, friends! We are pleased to announce the release of SX OS 2.7 beta.
SXOS27.jpg

Well, if you been waiting to try out 'boost mode' in Zelda or play MK11, well no more waiting, you can now update and enjoy! :)
This update brings full compatibility with firmware 8.0.0 and 8.0.1. All your favorite SX OS functionality (emuNAND, XCI emulation, cheats, etc.) should work as intended.

SX OS v2.7 beta is available on our website and through our Online Update right now!

We keep getting excellent feedback from our users, and have accumulated a nice todo list for new SX OS functionality. Its been almost a year since our initial release, but we promise we're still actively working on adding new features and improving existing ones.

Of course, behind the scenes we are also still working hard on our solution for those "unhackable" switches. Good progress is being made, so hang in there!
That's it for today, keep checking back for more updates!

Does this make anyone else want to kill themselves, how do they have the nerve? This is really fucked up, why not just say "now supports patched switches" why do they have to pretend it's their work?

Not every kid likes Fortnite.. I know mine and a friend of mine's children hate it - other friend's children love it. Same goes for Minecraft not everyone likes it.

My oldest will regularly just randomly try games from the 4TB USB HDD to see if she likes them, then install the XCI (which has the DLC and updates already applied) to the SD card if we're travelling somewhere.. or she will load the SD card with multiplayer games if we're going to a house with other kids so they can all play together.

Oh I usually get my nieces and nephews to play on my second Switch during the weekend. Younger ones do enjoy 1-2 Switch and FUN! FUN! Animal Park. The older ones usually go for FIFA 19, DBZ FighterZ and BOTW. Only one rule applies though: "give each game a decent amount of time" and this is both good for entertainment and educational purposes.

our kids have similars tastes - FIFA 19 has been getting some extended play and the My Hero Academia game also.. they're not so keen on BOTW, I mostly play that. Multiplayer favourites are 1-2 Switch, some bear game on a planet, some narwhale duelling game and some stick man fighting game.. yeah I don't pay attention to those :)

why do they have to pretend it's their work?
Your suggestion is bold. As they have their own emunand, usb support and xci loading, which is clearly their work, they may have something for ipatched too, other than dejavu. Did you read "do not update past 7.0.1!" anywhere at their forums? No. They may came up with different entrypoint all of a sudden. So hold your negative to the point they release something so you could argue whether it's their work or no.

Nope.. because no one cares. Adults know that companies hype and talk bullshit over their supposed new products and we ignore it / don't care.

As for waiting, I'm still waiting on some kickstarted projects from years ago to come to market..

Okay, it's just coincidence they will release it the day after reswitched does? We will see I will quote you when it's released. Not saying they don't make anything, just don't gotta pretend they created the things they didn't or give credit.

Will you publically apologise and say you were wrong if TX release an exploit first?

Just like all the people posting that SX OS would NEVER be supported and work under OS 7.0.1?

Oh wait.. none of them did either.

haha! if your kids concentrate on one game for more than a minute then you are a lucky person! It annoys me when mine play something for 5 minutes then exit and play something else.. but I'm an old gamer who grew up playing games on Atari 2600, Colecovision, Commodore 64 and there were no save games, or save points.. if you died, you started again :)

So true.
Remember back in the day plugging hours into getting to the Solar Power Generator (lvl 19/20) on Manic Miner never to complete it but had to nail all 18 prior levels over and over again just to get another shot.
Savestates are for pussies lol.

Ha hahah ha... no wait, it's not even funny it's just a poor comparison of something that NO CFW can do compared to features which DO work on SX OS and don't exist at all on other CFW.

so,,getting on to some ACTUAL INFORMATION and doing a REAL comparison, I looked at my posts from 12th March and updated it to current information.

SX OS:

Pros:
XCI files - can mount and play XCI files direct from USB (no need to copy to SD card)
- No need to install each game, just mount and they run - just like inserting a cartridge.
- XCI files do not install tickets so *POTENTIALLY* are not as detectable as NSP files.
USB storage - NSP files can be installed to SD card direct from USB storage, no need for PC. Useful on long journeys.
EmuEMMC / emuNAND - makes it potentially possible to dodge a banned console due to no records kept in system NAND (online play under emuNAND not recommended however).
- different official firmware versions can be installed in system and emuNAND (no fuses are burned)

Cons:
Official software support is usually a couple of weeks after the update comes out.
Costs money - $30 USD (comparison to SD card cost not valid as SD cards massive drop in prices recently).
Cannot use KIPs advanced features - like custom kernel modules (Overclocking module, etc)
MUST use the jig and payload injector on every cold boot (personally, if you're regularly powering off completely, then why? just leave the Switch in sleep mode).

Free CFW:

Pros:
Official firmware 8.0 support usually added just a few days after it is released.
No cost - just the included cost of your SD card for it to be installed on.
Can use KIPs advanced features - like custom kernel modules (Overclocking module, etc).
Can warm reboot payload from CFW (RCM jig still neede for cold boot).

Cons:
No XCI mounting.
No USB storage.
No emuEMMC / emuNAND.

Keep in mind that BOTH options allow installing of NSP titles to SD card and systemNAND (or emuNAND if using SX OS) via USB cable and NUT or SX server.
Both systems allow use of homebrew and backing up save games to alternate computers / storage for safe keeping.

The age old question - which CFW should I use?
Look at the pros and con feature lists and see which features are must have items for you.

Do you want overclocking? Then choose atmosphere.

Do you want loading and playing XCI images direct from USB HDD or USB stick? Then choose SX OS.

Don't want to spend any money at all? The choice is made for you - atmosphere.

So *IS* SX OS worth purchasing RIGHT NOW?
Both free CFW and SX OS have 8.0 support, so decide on which features you want and whether the cost is worth it TO YOU.

You forgot one thing . You need to add to Pro ..
We can play online :)
Still not banned :)

They are busy F5ing GitHub and Twitter for exploit releases that's why the update took so long;)

Still waiting for Overclock on SXOS :(
Couldnt agree more, I'm still on emunand V6. something, didnt even bothered updating it or SXOS which I can't even remember which one I have and I don't turn the console ON for many months anyway... If they shown "now with OC support" I would update right away and go buy Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut right away to fully mod the Switch for cooling and go test OC...

Thanks for the update works a treat on hidden/emunand! I also think the games list works a lot more efficient now whether that is related to the switch being now overclocked or the update I’m not sure but the sxos menu now works a lot better.

Just a heads up, if you’re updating too firmware 8.0.1 for the first time make sure you delete your theme folders from sxos/titles... else you will be presented with an error on boot up you need to dump your qlaunch files again with theme installer.

Guys, anyone have issues with AutoRCM? I can boot into emunand fine with autorcm enabled but it won't boot stock firmware at all. I disable autorcm and I can boot stock fine and if I use a jig I can boot into SXOS.

Atmosphere and SX-OS happy co-exist on my Switch and I boot into whatever will get the job done. Mostly, I'm running Atmosphere these days.

This "in real life" example somehow cannot peacefully exist in the alternate reality that is GBATemp.

I suspect it's because the Atmosphere-using pirates somehow believe that by bashing SX-OS their own piracy sins will be miraculously forgiven by the almighty Nintendo.
