New member here and excited to mod my Wii!

Hi all,

I just purchased a 2nd hand Wii model: RVL-001(UAE) and I am looking for some advice on this matter, I have done loads of research this past week on reddit / youtube / google.... and before I begin, I would like some confirmation that I am on the right path.

Is the below link the most up to date guide on getting the HBC and backing up the nand via BootMii?

(Just realized that I cant paste links because I am a new member, anyways the link I was referring to is the Complete Softmod Guide)

If so, my next concern is that the Wii's firmware version 3.1U and as mentioned before, it is a Wii model RVL-001(UAE).
I would like to update it to 4.3U.
I am aware of the Korea .003 brick and I am worried that I may brick this Wii on the off-chance that it is a repackaged Korean Wii in another enclosure (I have seen people online mention this).

My question is: on firmware version 3.1U, can I install HBC and do the Nand backup before updating as a security measure in case it gets bricked?

If not, What are my other options for backing up before updating to version 4.3U?

Install hbc channel download syscheck get modmii and check with modmii whether ur syscheck has modded iOS on it already then from there proceed to follow modmii guide

Is syscheck version 1.6.2 the latest?

Hello and welcome to GBAtemp.

The easiest method is just using ModMii. It will ask you a bunch of questions, download everything you need and prepare a guide for you.
The "Wilbrand" Exploit works for System Menu starting with 3.0 up to the latest version 4.3. So: Yes, you can install the HBC (and BootMii for NAND backups) before updating (which is done automatically on some point of ModMii).
A Wii modded with ModMii will not get a "003 brick"

Yeah I believe so and as he suggested u can install hbc channel and the bootmii and back up nand then proceed to syscheck and modmii modmii is a program on pc that will instruct u on latest soft mod for ur wii a brilliant easy to use modding tool

I nodded my wii recently had no idea what I was doing I dled hbc and bootmii backed up nand followed latest yt guide by tech James then I dled all the apps eg wii flow and what not then once I had everything installed I dled syscheck ran a syscheck put the syscheck on pc and then open modmii the one that looks like cmd (normally the modmii that doesn’t say skin when u dl modmii u get 2 styles) then type I agree and hit enter then type su hit enter then drag ur systemcheck file in hit enter and follow the instructions happy modding
