Hi!

I am new to this website so if this question has been asked before, I apologise. Although I don't think it has :)

My issue :

So I have dumped Zelda Breath of the Wild onto my SD card in multiple parts because my SD card is in Fat32 format ( The maximum file size I can have is 4GB, and Zelda is 15gb ).
The issue is that I can not install the game because it is in 8 different parts! Is there a way I can either :
Enable exFat support so I can bundle the game into one .xci format and install it -- I have tried to find a way to do this and have had no luck unfortunately.
or
Is there a homebrew app or something where I can download all the parts and run the game without my disk? -- Tinfoil doesn't do this I don't think.

Thank you for reading!

Convert it to NSP using your keys.txt then either do usb install, or split it with program like dividensp. Worse case look online for copy of the games. Don't asks for Keys.txt and where to get the game here on the forum.

Just use exFat and make this as less complicated for yourself. Or invest/commit/buy SX OS for their xci usb loading feature which is the best for scenarios like this.

Split the NSP/XCI to 4GB-1 chunks and make a folder with them successively numbered (00, 01, 02...) Set the archive bit on the folder and files (Right Click -> Properties -> File is ready for archiving -> Apply to subfolders and files)

The switch's OS will interpret this as a single file. This works for any type of file larger than 4GB (so you can even use this for videos in pPlay for example)

I recommend you stay away from exFAT if you're using homebrew like Retroarch. If you're only using official games, feel free but the SD card is very likely to corrupt randomly from the lack of any redundancy in exFAT, unlike FAT32.

Why are you using floppy disks

Here? To prove that you can in fact format a floppy to exfat, for no other reason than to prove you can (but seriously why.)

As for why I even have one, for dumping old DOS/Mac games and transferring data between a few ancient computers (an IBM Thinkpad 380ED and a Macintosh Color Classic, specifically) and more modern ones.

So instead of just installing via usb with Fat32 op is being advised to format to Exfat? Bad advice IMO. You could have just installed via usb with Fat32 and there was no 4 gb limit with usb.

Agree. Just install goldleaf on switch and goldtree on pc and never remove sd card again

Just for anyone still looking at this for help, there is also a Python script for splitting large NSPs into a folder that can be recognized by goldleaf and installed on fat32 SD cards. I would provide a link, but I'm new and not sure if that's allowed, so Google is your friend. It's also incredibly easy, with no experience using Python required.
