I had no more repplies from @hm7, the last words was about him having much work to do, so he was very busy, but he released a version of the game that is translated, but as I have already said, there's no way to advance from the first trial and it's difficult to play the trial in Japanese unless you can read kanji.

If you only want it to play this game, I know that there is at least the second gamr for PC, but I prefer to have my real savedata on my PSP or who knows in the future when I get a Vita too.
Probably one more beta, you can download one of the versions of my savedata and check it when it's released, I'll test for any bugs or something.

The first is: when in Class Trial there is no background on the text box, there is only the text.
Actually, all the display is gone. The left (or top) image shows how it was before and the right (or low) how it is now.
And with this issue it came another important one, the game now will crash when you can't answer the trial and it repeat the text for the third time (this will always occours), it's basically worst then before.
But not only the display isn't showing in Class Trial, but it's not showing anywhere anymore.
Wow! This last one with Mikan is horrible lol.
The text box outside the Class Trial is normal though.
Now, with the display issue we have this issue: where is the protagonist character when running around?
And some text are still like this: what the?
This are all the new infos I got. Sorry, but it's less playble then the previous version, while it fixed some texts like when entering the Usami Corral, but now there's no reticle and most of the display is off and now the game crashes in the Class Trial.
There's no savedata since it's still not possible to complete the class trial.

By the way, I don't remember if I ever told this but, I test on a real PSP 6.61 Infinity CFW, I can use both LME and PRO.
Really hope this will be finished! I've never played Danganronpa before and I do not want to buy a Vita to just play them - I want to play them on my PSP (as god intended x)). I will very soon start the first game's PSP fan translation

There is another new update but nothing too big, also he said in his page that he will be bringing every 2 months some minor updates so he can recieve more feedback as he will be slowly working on this, anyway, just check his page for updates and more.

How long do you think it will take for him to completely finish the project? Just speculation... as I really want to play DR2 on my PSP, since I don't have a ps vita
