How did you get it to work with PC FFX-2 Saves? I've tried editing the values and had no success. Attached the PC files I can't seem to get to work, any tips would be appreciated

EDIT: Got it to work by inserting 08 00 00 00 01 00 01 02 at the beginning of the save file and naming it like the Switch version! Thanks!!

This works perfectly - but then as soon as I move beyond the first screen of Mi'hen Highroad, the game crashes and the save file is corrupted. Is this a problem with the save file's checksum data? Anyone else experiencing this?

I thought I got this but just ended up with a weird save that froze the game when I got off the airship menu it loaded into, I'm fairly sure I managed to figure out the values "0x00-0x67ff" that I'm meant to copy from the PC save and how to copy it without altering the file size but I don't know what the "h" in "0x8h" means so I'm not sure exactly where to copy it to and I don't know what "00" I'm supposed to delete at the end or if it's necessary.

Download HxD, navigate to your save file folder "C:\Users\username\Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY X&X-2 HD Remaster\FINAL FANTASY X-2"
Rename your save file to ffx2_main_001.
Open it with HxD and copy 08 00 00 00 01 00 01 02 then go to Edit>Paste Insert.
Save the file, transfer it to Checkpoint on the Switch and restore save.

Why 08 00 00 00 01 00 01 02 though? I'm assuming this first 8 bytes is the checksum unique to the switch version. Whenever I edit my save file even slightly it leads to crashes and corruption in certain parts of the game and I'm guessing it's due to this first 8 bytes...

Thanks man, this helped a lot. However, since we are adding data at the beginning of the file, we are changing the filesize, which probably is why people have problem.
So i followed your steps, but then deleted the last
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
at the end of the file. This way i end up with a savegame that is the same size as the original.
Seems to work like a charm.

Is this just for X-2 or is it the same for X?

The offset insert I posted was for FFX-2 steam PC saves to be inserted at the beginning of the save file. I do not know the ffx insert.

Glad it worked!

Also, if it failed to save during a playthrough I saved it to a new slot and deleted the hex edited save file.

This is all assuming you have a clean untouched pc save. You can find out the hex insert for ffx by dumping a Switch save and copying the first 8 hex numbers and inserting them to a PC save file and inserting them back via Checkpoint switch app. You will also have to trim file.
