So I have been struggling trying to extract a save from my MHXX. Yes, I know that programs like JKSV and SaveFiler exist for 3ds but the peoblem is that my old 3ds broke, wich had my monster hunter save in it, and all I was left with was the SD. It´s an Emunand 3ds. Now I want to export that save and import it in my newer 3ds, wich is also Emunand, my newer 3ds won´t run the old DS´s emunand, not even just to extract the save with those programs. I have dug in the old SD files for quite a long time cuz I know that MHXX saves the data in "exdata" attempting to extract the save file manually in my PC, but all I can find is four different files named 0000001, 00000002, 00000003, 000000004 in the game ID´s folder inside "exdata". Those crash everytime I replace them with my newer 3ds same name files. Everything tells me that´s the save yes, but due to not being able to run the sd in any 3ds in order to extract the "system" and "system_backup" from the game using JKSV or Savefiler I can´t do anything. Does anyone know?
The raw data will do you no good - it is encrypted to only work on the console it was made on. You will need to have extracted it with JKSM or Checkpoint while you still had the console. Or have the moveable.sed of the old console.

With ntrboot and b9s being a thing these days do you still have to put in a special dns in the 3ds internet settings to block update servers?

Quick question, i think i bricked my r4i gold flashcart when trying to install luma. Forgot to do a backup of it, and now when loading the cartridge it stays stuck a black loading screen. Thing is, if flashed, the console won't detect it, so i assume at least the backup i downloaded works, but then i can't get to the flashcart's menu. Any ideas?

(Edit): Forgot to add that i downloaded a bunch of backups for the r4i and i'm trying them one by one. Except one that said "Fake or clone cartridge", all of them gave me the same results. Ntrflash boot list this cartridge as a r4i-sdhc family card, if it helps.

2DS or 3DS? I read that 3DS was limited in what systems I could play. Is that true? Does the 2DS have more function (as in play DS games, etc) that the 3DS doesn't have or are they the same?
The 2DS can't use the 3D function but apart from that it is identical to 3DS in terms of functionality. The point of difference is whether it is a "new" or "old" system. New systems can play SNES injects and the few games that are new 3DS only like Xenoblade.

Do you have the firmware files on it?

Hey all, not done any form of modding since back in the Wii days. Just bought my daughter a 2ds xl and decided to delve back into the modding world. I followed the instructions on the 3ds.hack.guide website and everything was going fine until I got the the 'Configuring Luma3DS' section. When I boot the device, holding the select button to launch Luma, nothing happens. It just boots as normal to the usual menu. I re downloaded the Luma3DS.7z file and tried adding the boot.firm again but still the same. So frustrated as I feel like I'm so close haha.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks :)

Do you start holding Select before you press power? Maybe you're pressing it too late.

Yes, i'm holding 'select' then powering on. I've been back through the guide to see if I've missed something but all looks OK. Should I delete and start again?
