That's why you make a backup BEFORE you install anything

I rather pay for a 512GB micro SD than the 256GB NAND though, it is like torture to backup NAND and rewrite it back into the system, on top of that you gotta waste like 230GB of space for the boot0/1 and rawnand backup, so couple of them take up like a tb lol.

You don't need the full rawNAND either; if I recall correctly, you only need the boot0/1 and prodinfo to restore from a softbrick. With NAND sizes this large, it almost becomes a necessity to omit the user partition when doing a NAND dump

That 256GB Emmc is nice but that 256GB nand backup is hard to convince.

I assume this is you, ebay username Sylmods, what a freaking scalper.
How is buying new KLMDGAGEAC-B001 “128GB” for $61 on aliexpress then reflowing them on new replacement modules scalping? My supplier through alibaba charges me $114 for new SDINBDA4 256GB, still cheaper then the arrow option at 152 units at $176. If someone on the trading forums are also selling these preflowed at different prices that’s because I don’t have access to the trading forums atm, And to my knowledge the only one to try to offer them on eBay or Etsy. XD I never been called a scalper before. Maybe some day I’ll get access to the trading fourms and I’m sure I’ll be more then happy to help more people out, who don’t want to do smt rework and micro soldiering. But even if there is ones available on the trading fourms, I would be a scab at best here =P.

How? Well, you can get KLMDGAGEAC-B001 for $34 on Ali. Then add the daughter board for $16. Reflowing is the cheapest part, but let's say that you want $20 for that. That's about $70ish, but you are charging 175$. So you have nice $100 profit from each module.
And SDINBDA4 can be found for $61. So together for like $100 and you are selling it for $225. That's another (at least) $100 profit.
Considering that you can get them on Alibaba or Taobao definitely cheaper (and cheaper when buying in bulk) you are overpriced as fock.
So yea, I would call that scalping as well.

For 1 The ones for $31 are used ics as you see at the top of the listing

And yeah figuring 30 to 45 mins of smt rework per module if i get a good reflow on said chip. That’s not even counting my time doing QC on my batches. Don’t get me wrong I’m want to sell my products a good price for everyone, but until I can figure out how to use Taobao and try to get my cost down, I kinda have to stick to my prices atm. Next your gonna say a switch usbc port replacement for 45$ is expensive as Fudge bc it only cost me $1.78 for an replacement port but who cares about the time it takes me to get it prepped, reflowed verified working then reclean it.And for ordering at bulk prices, cost bulk cash and I personally don’t have 15k~25k just laying around to invest in ics from China that could possibly have fake capacity. And honestly price double over cost is actually a very cheap markup vs regular store markup and seeing how there isn’t any competition with different prices I have nothing to base my prices off other then my cost and how valuable I consider my time.

You make a lot of valid points, but you're clearly forgetting the other guy's most important point which is "waa waa waa I want it cheaper".

Yes, I also did get a little defensive but luckily I have no problem standing by my decision making for my pricing, I did get some 256GB Taobao chips in today for an test but wasn’t wowed from them packaging them on bulk bga 169 trays facing each other and wrapped in plastic wrap. I used engtaobao and ended up at 82$ before shipping. I have also seen 10$ new replacement daughter boards on Taobao that I’m interested in trying. As 18.99 from AliExpress for new ones is a pain to wait for them to arrive. I don’t want to get into thread jacking territory here or on here trying to self advertise. So If anyone wants to discuss my pricing, I suggest them to start a new thread in the online stores and purchases section.

Hello everyone.
Today I received a 64GB emmc module presoldered on a different board.
Because the new board have different ID, I cannot use it to recover my switch (My emmc module is dead).
I have tried to restore my nand backup to it, but it don't boot at all -> PKG2 decryption failed.

sounds like you should have what you need if you have your backups and your keys. just follow this guide to the T and make sure your using the correct modded hakete in the guide so it ignores the nand its writing to.

http://www.nathanbunn.com/NandUpgradeSteps/

if your missing files and your emmc is *dead* youll need someone to reflow the chip and repair it enough to get the needed keys and partition backups to successfully restore the new one to work with your console. both mine and my sons will even boot OFW 7.01 with the upgraded nands.

My situation is different from yours.
Since I do not have the skill to reflow and replace the nand chip, I bought the complete module (the nand + the small board)
The board have different ID from the original board, thus restoring nand backup from the original nand do not work because the encryption is different..

im talking about the old emmc module. the id is in the ic chip itself not the pbc. so by dead you mean the the original emmc is corrupted or not getting connection to the switch? if an emmc *dies* its usually the solder balls or the pbc that has an issue. so getting the ic reflowed or soldered(dead bug) back to an working pbc is about the only way i can see getting the needed dumps to get your new one working.

I have a working nand backup before my emmc dies and I confirmed the nand backup is working because I restored it a few times last year.
I used the same nand backup to restore to a new emmc module, hekate unable to boot HOS with error pkg2 encryption failed.

HacDiskMount throw up this error when I tried to mount it.
Capture3.JPG

To recall: I replaced the whole emmc module instead of just swapping the nand chip by soldering.
I restored a confirmed working nand backup from the old emmc module to the new emmc module.

Did you use modified Hekate to restore nand? Sorry I still have my EMMCs on order.
