I finally transferred my save data for Nintendo Puzzle Collection over from Devolution and into Nintendont so that I can use the incomplete English translation for the game, but I discovered something unfortunate the first time I actually tried to legitimately play Panel de Pon in Nintendo Puzzle Collection...
...the input lag for classic controllers connected via a wiimote is worse on Nintendont than it is on Devolution.
On Devolution, using a classic controller connected via a wiimote gives input lag seemingly similar to if you played the game natively in GameCube mode on a Wii with a Wavebird controller, but on Nintendont it feels much more comparable to the Wii virtual console copy of Panel de Pon for SNES (which, presumably due to the SNES emulation, I've always noticed to have more input lag than the Panel de Pon in Nintendo Puzzle Collection played via Devolution even when using classic controllers connected via wiimotes for both games).
And no, using a GameCube controller is a poor substitute considering that this is one of those dpad-heavy games (if you aren't aware, Panel de Pon is the original Japanese game title for the game Tetris Attack).
So yeah...this is unfortunate. I don't suppose it's a known thing and that there's any possibility of this situation improving in the future?
