Just took it out of the box today. I can only really see it under full florescent lighting in my kitchen.. Pretty sure its under the screen because gently wiping it with a microfiber cloth does nothing. If i REALLY look under normal lighting i can find it.

Shit like this drives me crazy but i'm not sure if i should bother. heh :/

I get really bothered by that kind of thing, so I probably would, but realistically, probably not worth the time.

Might as well,

You paid full price, you deserve brand new

True you could take the thing apart and remove the dust yourself, but easier to just return the thing

Heh, like my DS Lite saga... (first one was an import with a knockoff charger that didn't really fit the wall, 2nd one broke slot-1 after 20 uses or so, 3rd one was stolen after 2 months)

If i bought it from a store that is near me, definetly yeah. Otherwise, nah. I don't really get bothered with small details like this (so much that my O3DS is literally all scratched/with dust under the screen)

Not that it makes much difference, but are you sure it is dust and not dead pixels? Seems unlikely to get two that dust has managed to get into, while dead/stuck pixels are fairly common. They're why I hate buying anything with a screen as a lot of manufacturers don't count them as a defect unless there are quite a few. I had to make up some BS when returning a TV as apparently a permanent bright green dot in the middle of the screen is perfectly fine and working as expected.

Yes, i am pretty sure.. with both systems i can/could see them when turned off :)

This N3DSXL has three tiny white dust specs that do not move when touched with a micro fiber cloth. When you look at an angle you can tell they are not on top of the screen like regular dust. :/

That's some bad luck. I'd definitely return it. As much as you might try to get used to it once you know they are there you wont. I've stopped inspecting screens I get. I just use it and only bother if something is bad enough to see in normal use. If there is something there I can't easily see, I'd rather not know.

Might. Played through a few worlds of 3D Land and i dont see them unless i really look for them. Can always replace the top lens down the road. Maybe in a few years they will have glass one like i put on my GBC and OGBA. *shrugs*

Reminds me of when i recently bought an Xbox One S.. first one had a really grindy fan. Second one had a really grindy fan. Third one had a really grindy fan. Fourth one had a really grindy fan. Fifth one had a really grindy fan.. gave up and kept it. Will install my own fan at some point.
