What a pretentious-ass title. Anyway, I might've missed it, but I haven't yet seen any discussions about VB emulators with Labo VR compatibility. And I do mean discussions not impatient requests - the kit hasn't even been released yet at the time of writing this and currently there's only the retroarch core that runs VB games.

Really I'm just curious to know your take on it. Anyone heard of any developer teams bringing this up as a potential project? How viable would it even be? We probably won't know until we have the Labo VR software to sort of poke around in, right?

Seeing as the 3DS never got a stereoscopic VB emulator, I'm skeptical as adjusting to the labo goggles has to be even more complex.

Good point. Apparently someone is finally looking into that but that’s this long after the 3DS scene has peaked, so... Yeah if the 3D-gimmicked system didn’t even have it, maybe it’s not as requested as I’d hoped?

Same. The retroarch 2D version is still incredibly fun. And I’ll admit I just replayed VB Wario Land on my oculus go, so I’m in this weird VB groove.

VBjin has a special Fork that works with VR Headsets such as the Occulus Rift or HTC Vive.
Since that works quite well even on my (old) 1.1 OR Devkit, which has a worse resolution than the Switch, it would make for a nice little addition to the Switches homebrew library.

possible but why Virtual Boy is trash... just trash

If you're saying this AFTER playing an emulated version of VB Wario Land with an easier-on-the-eye pallette, then ok to each their own carry on. If not, I recommend you give it a shot. The hardware and execution of the virtual boy was trash, yes, but that game in particular is incredible. Played on a modern console that excutes stereoscopic visuals properly, it's worth the work.

i have modified the shader. And it works perfect in labo vr! its amazing!

You wouldn't wanna... And I mean if you don't that's fine, but like... could you by chance...

...share those edits to the shader?

wario land is a fun game with good 3d effect. There are some other very fun games. But ALL of them have a good 3d effect.

VB was a crap system. I owned one. Returned it in less than a week. But Oculus Go, you say? Is it actually in 3D? Now I have to look around and see if there is something for the Rift. I already have Virtual desktop, bigscreen, skybox, and such...

EDIT: aaand... continuing the read of the thread, I find VBjin-OVR. Thanks, @Kadji!

Yep, all in 3D. It's what the VB essentially tried but failed to be.

Thank you so much! In the meantime, I was able to get the shader mentioned earlier working, but you're right it does need some tweaking so I'm excited to see what your version looked like before I go making my own edits.

(If by chance anyone is having trouble with the tutorial link above, like if things aren't matching up to what you have, make sure you have the latest retroarch for switch on your SD.)
