Hacking Discussion Team Xecuter Websites Down.

What do you think happened most likely?

  • Nintendo DMCA'd them.

  • TX took the money and ran .

  • TX was loosing money because of ATMOS so they couldn't afford to pay their bills.

  • Standard TX hate comment.

Lots of unneeded drama in this thread.

I recently spoke with TX, and they inform me that they just moving and upgrading servers, and migration of all data, forums, etc. is occurring, and with DNS changes, there may be periods of downtime with sites showing offline, but all is good and its just continued part of their previous upgrades this one is more extensive and as such domains may from time to time be not available for access.

If i get more news from them, I will let everyone know.

Hopefully the drama dies down a bit now! :)

awesome. very excited for a new update.

Oh right. I forgot about sxos3.0. I remember there would be a revamp to the forums and that probably includes the website also. Maybe others were accessing their “backup” server?

Just so you guys know, Volthax is a troll. He all the time is borderline of crossing the troll rules. :P

Why not have a backup site? Since you are the only ones who host the binaries this is indeed dumb. Just make an apache basic install and forward the download section. This is done in 5 mins and you have all time in the world to move your server.

Thanks for the info. People are so thirsty for some SX drama, it's sad.

Without wishing to incite flame wars, the team-xecuter.com DNS entry currently points to suspended.prolocation.net.

To get to that parlous state, either;
1. There is an unpaid bill at their primary DNS provider +/- web host, or
2. Control of the domain has been transferred away from Team Xecuter

The troubling bit of their current WhoIs data is
Domain Status: clientHold

You don't see that particular status very often. My understanding is that you only see this when you have lost control of your domain for some reason (unpaid bill or seizure).

My vote is on their domain having being seized and they will resurface at a non .com domain somewhere else with data loss dependent on how recent their offline backups are.
My hope is that it is just a badly managed server move, where they didn't get their new DNS server set up before their old one expired. There was a lot of good info in their forums.

That's good, but their account/domain is still suspended which isn't exactly normal. Could be something as simple as forgetting to pay their bills or the host could have been notified by the feds, or gotten a DMCA claim from someone like Nintendo and decided to shut it down. TX may have to look for new hosting.
