Todd Howard confirms that Bethesda will not be showing Elder Scrolls VI or Starfield at E3 2019

Bethesda fans might have to temper their expectations for this year's E3, at least, if they were looking forward to seeing either The Elder Scrolls VI or Starfield. Considering that the reveal for The Elder Scrolls VI was moreso just letting fans know that it exists, and Starfield was only announced last summer, it might not be the biggest surprise to have both those titles be no-shows this year, but it could also mean that Bethesda's 2019 conference won't be be as packed as previous years, as development teams may be focused on these two games instead of new projects. Major titles like DOOM: Eternal and Wolfenstein: Youngblood will still have a large presence at E3 2019, where both of which are slated for release this year.

Instead he shows up and present: “Skyrim76 battle royal deluxe“ on mobile Phones exclusive!

They did so much damage to the name with 76... hope they can save it somehow.

Bethesda is in a sticky situation right now. The engine they're using for their games is older than the Weimar Republic and they need to do something about that. Actually they have to develop a new one almost from scratch, which means to sink in a lot of money.

76 was utter rubbish and haven't reached the break even point, so it's wasted money.

Their singleplayer games also didn't perform that well. I love the Wolfenstein franchise since the very first one, but the last game was simply not good. Bad and not intuitive level design and the worst possible plot one could imagine.
It also doesn't feel like RAGE 2 has the hype it needs, and after the disappointment that was The New Colossus I'm not seeing Young Blood performing too well.

They need their upcoming games to be good and perform, or they may face a business crisis in the coming years. They need a new TES that will perform at least as good as the last one, along with a Fallout that will outperform Fallout 4. Both things just won't happen with their current engine.

They already confirmed both tes6 and starfield will use their old engine, not a brand new one.

Honestly, I find this to be a relief. I'd rather they take as much time as they are allowed with developing TES6 than trying to rush it. Granted, it will still probably be rushed regardless, since Zenimax puts deadlines on everything, but that last thing we need after Fallout 76 is the worst kind of rush job. I just hope that Bethesda uses the opportunities granted with Starfield and TES6 to redeem themselves after such a shit release, followed by shit PR.

another lame E3 :( boo...
The only thing I'm even remotely interested in for E3 is the fact that CDPR is doing a presentation for Cyberpunk 2077 and we might actually get a release date (or at the very least a release window). Other than that, I'll just try to stay off the internet during E3 because people get really cringy over it.

Oh boy more Elder Scrolls TCG news. The two people who play that will be excited. But for real though, if they're still doing E3 they're basically going to talk about new games they're publishing of other developers, Elder Scrolls TCG, Fallout 76 patch updates, app nonsense, and Elder Scrolls Online's Elsweyr expansion (we put Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 76, why not dragons in the 2nd era?). Pretty much an easy skip.

Didn't he also confirm that TES VI would be built on the same engine as FO4? The Creation Engine (I think it's called) sucks and they need something new.
I just did a google search and i'm not sure where you found that information. There is no where that Todd confirms they are reusing the old engine.

People love to complain about the creation engine, and yes it does have issues

But they managed to make a lot of great games using it, and they are revamping it little by little

It's the argument of renovation vs. from scratch

One saves you a lot of time and money and so it is usually the route preferred
That's true, and I'll also admit they've done a great job updating GameBryo's graphics back when Skyrim first launched. However, whenever I boot up Fallout 4 I just can't help but notice how bloated and unoptimized it became over the years, and it's not hard to see why: even if it received major updates over the years, the engine started as a fork of Fallout 3's own, which means it's around 11 years old under the hood. To put into prespective, even a company as slow and stubborn as Valve decided to change their own engine after sticking around with Source for that much time.

I'm not saying they have to make another in-house engine, that'd be costly and time consuming. But at this point, even going with something as common as UE4 might make sense.

They have become moneygrabbers just like EA, blizzard and the likes.

Very sad, as I have been a fan since the Elder scrolls Arena.
But seeing the shite they have produced lately and their cosying up to bullshit such as crap DLC's and online only&microtransactions, I have little faith they will ever make another 'masterpiece'. I keep hoping, but won't buy their pre-orders is all I'm saying :)

I'm excited but I really hope they fail so they'll realize they have to change up things more in order for their games to be good. Like we won't know TES 6 is going to be any good with their engine until it comes out
