The classic Wii series starring Mario and Sonic characters fighting it out in Olympic competition will be making its debut on the Nintendo Switch. SEGA has announced Mario & Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the game arriving at the tail end of 2019. An arcade version will also be available in Japan, and a mobile version starring only Sonic series characters will launch in time for the Olympic games, just prior to Summer 2020.

They probably have payed a lot of money for the Olympic rights and they will more than likely make a shit load of money from the mobile version of the game.

If nobody wanted mobile versions of games then why the heck would companies like sega/nintendo/Square Enix ect make them in the first place? Oh yes it's because like I already said mobile games make a shit load of money

@Chary it's also coming to ps4 minus Mario I would guess lol.

No, it's the official Olympic videogame, nothing to do with Sonic if you read the first two parts.

Still been playing the 2012 Olympics. Never got to play 2016, so I can't wait to finally play another Mario and Sonic game. Also, Sonic's looking seriously depressed that he's losing to Mario there.

So hear me out...I think this is really good news.
This series has stagnated for the past two entries, and I think that the break for last year was deserved. You can already see the characters with new outfits and more expressions, kinda like Smash Bros. and Mario Tennis Aces. A lot of care is going into the Switch game, which has me excited for sure. 2010 and 2012 were great games (save the 3DS version), so I'm hoping that this will be a good reboot for the series!

Ok. But why making a Mobile Version anyway? The switch is a Handheld and i think no one wants a "shrinked" Version of the Game for Mobile, when you can have the full Game on the go with the switch

More people gave phones and don't have Switchs than people that have both.

My copy of the 2012 Olympics is still untouched for the Wii...

Why does anyone want to play these games?
Except for the first, they're all pretty decent games to play with friends and family. I played the Vancouver on the DS one a lot with my brother, although it's probably the best of them all
