As said sony dont want gamers going into bargain bins looking for cheap ps4 games they've had ther day they want attention on selling ps5 games - and it's like if parents buying games for ther kids and finds out it plays ps4 games they may look at those games as it's a cheaper option

Stop giving Sony lazy excuses

Why should they waste time making old tech work in a new machine just keep Yr ps4 simple
because many of us didn't buy ps4 pro so if ps5 plays ps4 games with pro mode its a huge plus, also its not like they are gonna emulate it either, they will just make some sort of shell around it, it isnt much trouble if architecture of ps5 is the same, heck home-brew devs made wii and wiiu do gc using this way and such.

Also doing bc console they can sell the games online on the store, and many people prefer to buy them digital than going to look for old used discs and such, they dont loose any money on doing that and can make much more.

Oh man, it was just boring. Not saying that the Nintendo Directs are always amazing, but they are more dynamic and fun to watch.

But can't say the focus on VR is a bad thing. I'm not a big fan, but I do think the technology itself deserves more love.

And I really am surprised that there are still people defending the lack of backwards compatibility...

VR can only be worth a damn with freedom of movement.
Current gen VR tech has a long way to go. As it is right now, it's more movie than gaming.
I'm surprised this many people even like it, but they must also be the kind of people who enjoy 3D movies.

You might care if PS4 games continue to sell more than some PS5 launch titles, but I can guarantee you that Sony does not care. The money all comes back to them. More sales are never a bad thing.

Most people don't care. In fact...i surprisingly know alot about business and backwards compatibility with PS4 games would only boost profits and therefore give them a higher profit margin for the PS5. Without backwards compatibility profits would not be as good for the PS5 and the profit margin could even be lower than expected for the PS5's launch.

Its all within the ethics of the business world.
