Hi Guys,

I just popped in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in my ps4 pro and it just shows as a disc saying "Playstation 4 Format Disc" and when I select the disc it says the system needs to be updated to 6.20 or higher (screenshots attached). I have firmware 6.02 currently on my ps4.

Considering the 6.20 webkit exploit, I don't want to upgrade past 6.20 so I have a couple of questions:

1) Does the Sekiro Shadows Die Twice game require 6.20 firmware or higher to pay? I'm not sure if the message that says needs 6.20 or higher is associated with Sekiro or if it can be associated to other game updates that I have pending to be installed.

2) If it does require minimum fw 6.20, does anyone know if the disc contains an update file and if it does can someone confirm that it's fw 6.20? (I have 6.50 downloaded so I'm not sure if when I select "Update Now" it means from my downloaded 6.50 or from the disc.

3) Assuming the disc doesn't have FW 6.20 - Does anyone know where I can download the 6.20 Firmware update file? (Assuming the disc doesn't have a firmware file)

I found 2 links for the 6.20 file but I wasn't sure if they just link to Sony's site and download the 6.50 update. These are the links if anyone can help me verify:

1)http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation...ca0195028b09adca2757800/PS4UPDATE.PUP?dest=us - This link is from a website explaining how to install 6.20 FW. I think it is 6.20 because the "2018_1102" in the download link and when I compared it to the current 6.50 link at Sony's website, Sony's link has "2019_0301" and the links in general are different but I want to be sure.

2)https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/gaming-consoles/Sony/Sony-PlayStation-4-Firmware-6-20.shtml - I was thinking of using the softpedia download link instead of an external mirror, I'm assuming this means they're hosting the 6.20 file.

I just want to be 1000% sure before installing an update file that it is 6.20 because of the 6.20 web exploit

Any help would be really appreciated!

Nvm - I deleted the 6.50 update and went to system software update and it now says "The following version of the system software is available. Version 6.20"

On a side note-since the webkit exploit is available for 6.20 would it be generally ok to update to 6.20 since it works for older firmwares too?

Webkit is useless since the kexploit for 6.20 works on 6.5 you better off on 6.5 but hey thats just my opinion :)

Thank you have you any idea when a 6.5 exploit will be coming out. Is it worth not updating further than 6.5

So wait let me get this straight. As of now there is a exploit that allow cfw working on 6.50 but it is private as of now??

So everyone currently on 6.50 should't update and just wait until the exploit is released correct?

sigh. face facts, we're not going to see a new exploit available until sony patch the vulnerability in the current firmwares or the ps4 starts to be phased out and not many games are being released for it any more. and the only way the former is happening is if sony are actively looking for it, or someone in the scene leaks that info to them.

Honestly that’s fine by me. I’d rather save it for a big exploit at the end when the system is almost phased out for maximum compatabiliy and to allow a lot of consoles to use it.

Plenty of stuff to keep me busy till then. Don’t wanna burn exploits if they are this rare to come by. If they are saving it, it’s because they don’t know if they’ll have another chance very easily.
