Thanks to you two.

For mame, i found some tutorials.
Some people have created shortcuts to launch games directlty from the wii-U memu using forwarders.
It would be really great if i could create a sub-menu for mame32 games.

My daughter's birthday is on sunday.
I 'haven't touched the wii-U for now, i will make a SYSNAND backup and begin next week.

What is the best hack to do in 2019 ? (regarding what i want to achieve)
I supposed still the CHBC (permanent) ?
It is still needed to buy a DS game ?

I also post a question regarding inject/dump wii-U loadiine games in threads/tutorial-how-to-install-games-on-a-wiiu-formatted-drive-without-any-fat32-hdd-using-ftp.474483/page-2#post-8562555 maybe you have some pieces of answers for that too...

Have a nice day

I would absolutely go for the one I have, that requires to buy a DS game, install Haxchi and CHBC (permanently hack).

I whish you the best of the patience and luck!

We will be here supporting you!

Hi eipok,

I am reading this thread for a while now and I considered to register with this forum to thank you for all your patience and hard work since beginning. I really appreciated your posts and I want to tell you to not let anyone bother you as you mentioned more than enough that is YOUR setup and your are happy with it.

In fact I am considering to go exactly after this setup as I really like it, just for better understanding I wanted to ask you about your 3 x 200 GB SD Cards:
Can you please tell me about how much games are theoretically possible in/for every sd card? I think that 200 GB (in the transcend adapters) for each Wii and Wii u will be necessary but dont you think 200 GB is a lot for the internal sd card slot? Maybe you can give me an overview about the (average) capacity for each console game or your sd card setup. Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Hi,

For now, i plan to install Wii games and mame32 roms on SDCard.
I'll use up rear USB slot to plug a powered external USB drive for Wii-U Games.

Do putting Wii games on SDcard is problem ? (i mean regarding your setup)

Thanks

Hello Gupi!

Thank you very much for appreciating my effort! It really frustrated me when those guys were so annoying about the Ultimate stuff and so on...But anyway, I am here to help!

About your questions:

Can you please tell me about how much games are theoretically possible in/for every sd card? Maybe you can give me an overview about the (average) capacity for each console game or your sd card setup.
-> These are my stats:

  • SD:
    • SD 200GB.
    • FAT32.
    • GC Games: 11,7 GB.
    • Roms and Emulators: 2 GB.
      • Roms Nes.
      • Roms Snes.
      • Roms GBA.
      • Roms N64.
      • Roms MegaDrive.
  • Wii U Memory:
    • Channels:
      • VBAGX.
      • SNES9XGX.
      • FCEUGX.
      • Wii64Rice.
      • Nintendont.
      • USB Loader GX.
      • Homebrew Launcher (programa y datos guardados).
      • Netflix.
      • Youtube.
      • Haxchi (DONT TOUCH ME).
      • Some Wii U Games.
  • Up USB:
    • SD 200GB + SD Reader Trascend.
    • WiiU Format.
    • Wii U Games: 190 GB.
  • Down USB:
    • SD 200GB + SD Reader Trascend.
    • FAT 32.
    • Wii Games - Wii BackUp Manager: 141 GB.
    • Hidden with Ustealth_R8, so we don’t get the constant question to format the USB when in WiiU mode startup. (Reason why I can't put GC games in here).

Dont you think 200 GB is a lot for the internal sd card slot?
-> Absolutely the SD car is to much for what it has inside...I toke it with 200GB just in case.

Hope it helps!

Hello Laf111,

I answer your question:

Do putting Wii games on SDcard is problem?
-> Yes...It is a problem because Wii games are not recognizable by the program that I use: USB GX Loader. That is the reason why I had to put it separately.

Best!

I have many issues with this. A 64 gig is plenty for installing games. A 1 tb hardrive is perfect for GC and Wii VC injects and Wii U games, making the hige SD useless. CBHC isn't necessary either. Cios beta 53 alt vwii is buggier and less reliable than 52

64 gb is enough if you only want Wii U games, if you add the Wii games and everything else it does start to add up.

Hi Eipok

One question about your device plugged to your USB Down Slot (where you put Wii games) : is there a reason to use a FAT32 file system ?
(and so need WII backup manager to split "big Wii games" > 4Go)

NTFS isn't recognized ?

Thank you in advance.

The Wii and Wii U use Fat32.

Thanks but this is what you wrote in your entire post of this thread. What I wanted to know is the amount of games for each console I can expect on each 200 GB SD card, for example 40 Wii U games?

What I also want to ask you is, whether you use CEMU (Loadline) or USB method to play Wii U games because I still cant decide which is better.

Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if I can still use the Wii U usb helper for 5.5.3? When I use it I got a message that it will not work with 5.5.3? I have a huge collection of discs and I am really tired to change the discs everytime. Thanks in advance, Qupi

Hello Gupi,

I can tell you that I have around 35 games installed with the USB method (as you say) and this is because the loading times and stability are better for USB method compared to Loadine method, plus the network connectivity is not permitted with Loadiine method.

Regarding this, you can find in here more detail to use it: https://www.reddit.com/r/CemuPiracy/comments/8gj8z8/workaround_download_and_run_wii_u_usb_helper/

I have tested it now and it works.

Did you experience a stuck when installing via wud installer on your wii formated sd + USB Adapter? I am using wup installer gx2 v1.3 rev 21 and everytime I try to install a game it gets stuck at nearly 1,5 GB copying. Now I install in NAND and copy then to usb drive but this couldnt be the solution?

Best regards

You are welcome!

I remember that I had to take the Down USB (Wii games) out from the Wii U when I was installing any Wup because of an error I was facing...Try that...

You can try with my Wup Installer anyway (it is in my SD uploaded in the first post)

Hi all,

I confirm : trying to install Wii-U games, without removing the down USB slot (Wii Games) cause WUP installer failure "Invalid Game DLC or Update".

@eipok, i'm progressing in my setup, manage to run GameCube games, MAME32 roms. I need to verify my vWii setup because games are shown with USB Loader GX but do not run (go back to Wii menu when i try). I also have an issue with the USB Loader GX Forwarder in Wii-U menu (error screen with many versions displayed and that ask me to reboot the WiiU).

Another thing, U_Stealth R7 or R8 fail to hide my USB device until i switched from MBR to GPT partition type.

Have a nice day

Hi, its me again, I didnt make any progress till now but there is something which concerns me and I dont know what to think about it:

In the noob guide it says at some point:

"To install haxchi, you need an official NDS game bought on eShop. After installing haxchi, that NDS game will be unplayable, so choose one you don't want to play.
You can't skip this requirement as you need your first haxchi to be installed over a good-signed game."

What if I install the game which I used for haxchi via the wiiu usb helper and installed it on usb drive? Would that affect my haxchi? Because the first one is installed on internal memory and the second one on usb drive. Or can I just rename the file before installing it on usb drive?

Thanks a lot

Hello Laf111,

The problem that you are mentioning about the error screen with many versions displayed and that ask me to reboot the WiiU, could be caused because of the USB you are using to put the Wii games. If you have set all the settings that I say to make it works, I would say that the reason is that. Try another USB just in case.

-> I really dont know what would happen if you do that... It has the risk of making the Wii U crashes, but I wouldn't know without trying it...

Sorry for not being more helpful!
