Officially licensed retro SEGA controllers to be released by Retro-Bit this spring

As its name implies, Retro-Bit has a soft spot for anything retro. We've reviewed their 3-in-1 console that plays NES, SNES and Genesis carts and even the NES game that they brought to the West after 30 years! In line with their philosophy to keep retro consoles alive, the company announced partnership with Sega at CES 2018 to bring six of their retro controllers back with original and USB-ports should yours be out of order, or should you just want to have a retro SEGA feel while playing your new games. While they were announced a few months ago, those controllers will soon be available to purchase in the coming months as you can see below:

● Sega Genesis® 6-button Arcade Pad - Original Port - NA (Available April 2019)
● Sega Genesis® 8-button Arcade Pad - USB® - NA (Available March 2019)
● Sega® Mega Drive 6-button Arcade Pad - Original Port - EU (Available May 2019)
● Sega® Mega Drive 8-button Arcade Pad - USB® - EU (Available April 2019)
● Sega Saturn® Control Pad - Original Port - NA and EU (Available April 2019)
● Sega Saturn® with USB® Control Pad - NA and EU (Available April 2019)

Retro-Bit touts its version of those classic controllers as packing the same original-grade quality as their original Sega counterparts along some improvements. For one, the cables are now extended to 10-feet (3 meters) for increased mobility while in play. During development of the controllers, the company also paid additional detail in the performance of the D-Pad which is often a scrutinized component to retro gaming fans. They also repositioned the mode button in the controller with USB port to make it more ergonomic and cater to the gamer’s alternative gaming options.

“We are extremely happy to have collaborated with Sega to bring the world of gaming these timeless classics back with a special touch of Retro-Bit. We made very The Eagerly-Awaited Sega and Retro-Bit Collaboration Sees Success in the European Gaming Community Before its March and April Release precise revisions to absolutely perfect them in order to bring the best quality of controllers for the gaming community. Just in the same quality that Sega always has. I believe we’ve achieved just that”, said Ali Manzuri, Product and Business Development at Game Outlet Europe, Retro-Bit’s exclusive distributor in Europe.

More details about the availability and purchase links is available on Retro-Bit's official website linked below. What other SEGA controllers would you like to see revived?

UPDATE:

The Product and Business Development at Game Outlet Europe, Retro-Bit’s exclusive distributor in Europe, Ali Manzuri, reached out to us to provide further details about more controllers to be released. Namely a Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz version are in the works and will be released in Summer 2019!

Can someone explain the legality of a machine that plays proprietary Nintendo as well as Sega carts?
It plays it, it runs it unlike the Hyperkin which emulates. It's a system on a chip so it's legal.

Great feel but not great quality. Maybe these will be different since SEGA attached their name to it (or not considering they partnered with ATGames) but Retro-bit doesn't have a good reputation for a reason. Their generic versions, which seem to be the exact same as these just without the branding and clear option, suck in durability.
I never said it was quality, i just said it feels good

I was talking about also recreating these:

Always wanted a good Saturn style USB controller, so I'm excited
They've already made one and I didn't like it too much like inside the controller it's just four/five cables not even secured down just soldered directly to the board unlike an actual Saturn pad is.

Think I'm joking?

and?
that only drives the price up without adding any benefit. unless you treat you controllers very poorly and yank the cable like there is no tomorrow that is not going to make any difference.

Oh and it felt nothing like a Saturn pad I had to buy a actual pad just for the parts just to make it feel like an actual pad.

I've been waiting for these.
8-Bit do has their own Sega Genesis pad now but no M30 Pro version with sticks so I've been waiting to see if RetroBit's version would ever be out.
So far the controllers look standard but fit the Saturn mold at least.
I love the Saturn controllers but it really just needs a select button is all, just for more compatibility.
The RetroFlag USB genesis controller works pretty well and has a select button and extra L and R shoulder buttons so I really don't need these normal ones.
Least we got a general date on the Bluetooth versions, I hope the one with extra buttons and analog sticks shows up too.
However if 8-bitdo makes an M30 Pro version which would include Switch and gyro support, well, I'll only pick the one with the most features.
Still I'd love to try one of these and see how the D-pad holds up.

EDit: further look at the images it seems the 8 button genesis ones have L and R shoulder buttons plus the mod button under the start button, however the Saturn ones simply don't have the mode button so it's one button less. Strange. Dunno why they'd make them inferior. Sucks for me cause I want at least the extra mode button and the Saturn controller shape. I don't get it, why not include a mod button anyway. Unless its strangely on the back somehow out of view? Least the bluetooth analog stick variants should have a little of everything.
