SX OS 2.6 Beta released: full support for Nintendo Switch firmware 7.x

From Team Xecuter:

This new 2.6 BETA of SX OS adds full support for Nintendo Switch firmware 7.x, including ALL functionality you expect when using our product. We've been pioneering our own unique and proprietary solution for defeating any future firmware protection and we're quite happy with the results so far.

This release is marked as BETA because we changed things drastically under the hood to streamline future firmware updates and some things may inadvertently behave differently.

That does not mean it hasn't been vetted at all, so give it a shot today!

Of course, we haven't been sitting idly behind the scenes either. A lot of our development resources and attention has been dedicated to bringing SX OS to those "unhackable" switches. We are working hard to bring the SX OS experience to all of you who are stuck with an "unhackable" switch. Stay tuned for more news!

I update using Choid rather then Horizon to prevent possible ban

hello all,

just received my activation code and ran SX OS for the first time (had kosmos/ atmosphere before). In preparation to running SX 2.6.1 i saw some videos on you tube and notice that when the hit the album it open something different than my setup (when i go into the album i get the SX menu) did i do something wrong? how can I make it open something else?

Also why is the SX OS in beta? what is broken or pending?

Once you boot into Sx OS custom Firmware and open album icon, you will enter in Sx Os Loader. There you will find the Following Tabs: Games, License, Homebrew, Options, etc.

Games tab, will list your xci games on your sd card/HDD. License will show you your console fingerprint. Homebrew will show your homebrews placed into Switch Folder on your SD Card, Options you will be able to enable FTP, Disable Stealth mode.

The newewst SX OS is in Beta because they have just released the 2.6 version that supports Firmware 7.0.x. The 2.6.1 version addressed some bugs like HDD not working and License not activating in 2.6.

By what you said, you did nothing wrong.

Thank you.

I am not in front of my switch (at work). On 2.6.1 if you hold down the R and press on the album does it take you to the homebrew menu?
where do I put the home-brew apps (in the switch file)?

I also have atmosphere on the sdcard would it create any problems when running homebrew apps?

Anyone else experiencing os crashes while sxos is scanning for games from usb hdd on 2.6.1?

Hey Thistletea, I am unable to see my xci. Does the format matter exfat vs fat32?
On the sdcard do I just put the xci on the root of the sdcard?

On the HD do I just place the xci on the root of the hd?

What can I use to import the big files to a fat32?

The FAT32 maximum file size is 4Gb, so XCIs larger than that need to be split.
I personally use exFAT which doesn't have this file size limitation.

SX OS scans the following directories.

/switch/updates
/switch/dlc
/switch/games
/switch/xci
/switch/nsp
/switch

/sxos/updates
/sxos/dlc
/sxos/games
/sxos/xci
/sxos/nsp
/sxos

Fix archive bits maybe? (Hekate has an option for that or you can do it on computer)

I'm on exfat for both my sdcard and hdd. I found the issue with browser crashing, it was a corrupt xci. deleted corrupt file and now scan works again!

If you're transferring your files using a Mac, you'll always have this archive bit issue. You can either use FTP or nxmtp to transfer your files to get around it.
same with Linux. I use NX-Shell to enable archive bit afterwards if I transfer them over via ftp or nxmtp.

Hello all, I haven't found this mentioned so far so I thought I'd ask.

I have SX OS set up with emunand and when installing nsp files I get the question along the lines of if I want to install to SD card or system. So far I chose SD card because I don't want any trace in my real nand. But then I thought because I use emunand and choosing system as destination for install should actually install into emunand, not real nand since it's mounted instead of real nand.

Am I correct in thinking this? Because I put everything on SD card emunand is basically empty so I can also use that space for nsps.

You're correct. You can make use of the emunand system storage. It won't leave traces on your real nand.
