I've had a few issues with Rewind. Fast forward can be abit finicky but majority of the time it works pretty good
Ah yeah I think it was Rewind the one with the most issues, as not all cores have it implemented iirc.
Fast Forward for sure should work in most cases, but still if you find some game/core not booting up, it's either Rewind and/or Fast Forward.
I found out the hard way months ago :D

I want to move my retro files from main SD to its own SD. I don't want any Switch games on Reto SD. Outside of the Retro files, atmosphere, and roms what other files do I have to copy from my main SD card to the new SD card?

In the Controls options (I think) there should be an option called Hotkey binding or something similar.
That's where you can set the key for Rewind and Fast Forward.

Word of advice though, be careful when enabling any of the two, as some cores do not play well with them.
Found it in Settings > Input > Hotkey Binds, thank you.

Sorry if this might be a common question but could someone provide me a tutorial to get N64 games running? I'm using Kosmos and I have no problem with overclocking my Switch. I know that Lakka used to be the best option for PSX and N64 but is that sill the case?

Here is everything you need for the best N64 emulation:
It includes latest Retroarch 1.7.6, NSP forwarder to use full ram, Latest mupen64plus-next with Gliden64 3.0 support and special configs for this core.
You need latest Atmosphere 0.8.5 or latest SX OS 2.6.1 because they have JIT patches.
Extract zip, copy files to MicroSd, install NSP file and launch from home screen not from homebrew launcher.

First off, you have to delete any previous configuration file you had with any previous Mupen64 build, so that you can start using the new one using a fresh RA generated configuration file to avoid unwanted results.

Next, I recommend to all those people that are using the latest Mupen64 version with the GlideN64 update, to always have Framebuffer enabled so that games suffer from the least glitches possible.
If you still encounter glitches or graphical bugs with Framebuffer ON, then try playing around with the DRAM options (color writes and depth buffer).

Also, I cannot stress this enough, but please try to save your configurations PER-GAME with this new Mupen64 + updated GlideN64 build.
Once you hit the perfect configuration scheme for a certain game, be sure to save said configuration per-game, so that other games are not affected by those changes.

I would also recommend that people start sharing configuration files for conflicting games, so that whenever someone wants to play a certain game, you can simply drag-drop the config for said game and enjoy it right out of the box without having to fiddle around with the settings too much.
I apologise in advance as this is probably common knowledge by now but I have no idea. How do you save the configurations per game?

Sounds great thanks! Is there a reason to launch from home screen instead of the Homebrew launcher? Not too sure on how to do that.

When you start a game, go back into the RetroArch menu.
Quick Menu, and then go to Options of the game you are playing.
In there you should find all of the options given to you depending on what core you are playing.

At the very top of this Options screen, you should see the name of the game you are playing, right there on the top. Once you are done making your changes in the Options screen, simply click on the game's name, and the settings/options will be saved only for that game in particular.

Thanks a lot! That will come really handy.

for some reason when I started from scratch and used these files I ended up with GoldenEye having a few new visual glitches. namely the opening credits and file selection screen having objects placed too high up

nvm I fixed it by deleting all config files and starting from scratch on those. I think I went wrong by trying to get out of the HD resolution and back to 4:3 640x480 instead of 16:9 720p like the provided config. We're good now

Open like any normal nsp game you have installed using the icon on the home screen.

Having problems with this, I used all the files/configs you uploaded plus the new NSP on the latest sxos.

Loaded SM64 and it played like a dream, closed and tried to load NHL99 and it crashed before launch (always worked before but with some lag). Now it fails to load any roms I select including SM64 which initially worked.

Any ideas or advice?

@BigOnYa I had 4.89 hfw on super slim that was great, but when I got a new hard disk I forgot where the guide was and could only find a guide for 4.90 and its resources

@BigOnYa I think another reason to want to update is if the hfw is at the level of the fw

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
