Nah... You dont get it, do you ? Some people like me prefer standalone emulators. I dont like some emulators in Retroarch like Atari 2600 and some in 1970's. Nah.

Then that's easy, only download the cores for the emulators you want.

It doesnt make sense to want a stand alone emulator when you have retroarch that already has said emulators people are asking for.

Simply boot one program, load content and your done (as long as you assigned the core properly).

I'd rather use retroarch than have to use individual emulators, plus retroarch had graphic improvements, cheats, save states.

Surely, but it is fun for some people wants to do that. And yes, it does make sense to want a stand alone emulator. Just for fun. Come on. Keep your mind open. For me, I don't want retroarch.. too many emulators in it which I have to disabled them and keep a few.. Doesn't make sense. :P

Yep. Just putted together some imagens found on google with my noobish photoshop skills :D

Excellent. Thank you! I will learn how to do that. Thank you, my Portuguese friend!

Edit: What about pSNES ? I prefer PAL SNES version.

It is good to have choice between Retroarch and standalone emulators, because they are different.

For example, I don’t think Retroarch cores get updated to the latest emu versions very often, because it is not easy to update them. On the other hand, psnes, pnes, and pfba can be updated to latest underlying emulator version very easily.

Also, they are much much easier to configure than Retroarch.

Precisely. And thank you.

Too many emulators.

As standard it comes with nothing just its essential files. You download the cores (emulators) that you need.

Your core is never activated unless you boot a rom, it will then boot the core for that rom.

So in fact what you said doesnt make sense because you dont disable anything.

Why would you want to wait for someone to sit and make q standalone ps1 emulator when retroarch has one that runs perfectly.

You could make your life far easier when it comes to switch homebrew if you were educated more.

Dont get me wrong I've used panes and other stand alone emulators, but retroarch is far better and offers more all within one program.

Yes, I can do that but good for people who are noobs. I compiled many emulators myself for macOS users. For other, I understand your opinion. For me and others might think differently. Thank you vey much. :grog:

You haven‘t even tried the Switch version of Retroarch before posting here. Otherwise you would know that, on the Switch, Retroarch always comes with all cores included, and downloading cores doesn’t work on the Switch either.

Retroarch received a lot of updates for the frontend, but many cores are orphaned and haven’t been updated in years. They are often based on very old emulator versions (e.g. Vice core based on 3.0 not latest 3.2 etc.). Your example of PS1 is a counter example. The PS1 core on Switch runs slower and with more problems than even the Vita version. It is very far from perfect.

I could go on. But before we talk more, you should try Retroarch Switch at least once so you know what you are talking about next time.
