going from 4.82 CFW straight to 4.84 cfw is ok but going from 4.82 cfw to 4.84 ofw = you are stuck with no hack
I've never done it on the console, but only the slims store any of the os on the flash.
Even if those files get wiped out, the console still has enough of rebug that it should be able to install CFW again without having to redo the exploit (although the last time I put in a blank drive, I couldn't get it to install rebug itself & had to use another CFW first).
