Just to clarify,

DevMenu seemed to only install via the USB Install option using Goldleaf no other title installer worked for me.

My Cave Story update is either broken or different (Even devmenu failed to install it) as i have tried Axiom Verge update and game and this Tinfoil installed both just fine!

Thanks for the support and pointers so far!!

Oh, great news if tinfoil usb works.

FWIW, DZ crashed my Switch last time I tried a usb install (I'm on 6.2, not 7.x). I don't know if that was because it was from a google file stream, or because of a python issue (or something else). It seems pyusb is quite flakey on Mac - according to the googles it's not just me - so every usb install I've tried that uses python on the computer end will give me issues at least some of the time. I wish there were more non-python options, but aluminumfoil with tinfoil has been solid as a rock for me.

I have heard there are issues with google file stream and USB, but google file stream works with network install which is weird since they both use the same code. I have not had time to look into it.

Tinfoil wont install Devmenu because dev menu has a weird title id.

Where to put my title.keys generated with Lockpick? I renamed it to keys.txt and put it in the Tinfoil folder but always get "Missing header key! All installs will fail". What's the problem?

There is a list of files that you press a to install, its called the file browser, nice troll though attempt though :)

I did get a chuckle when you accused Tinfoil of being bloated, then said you use Goldleaf lol.

Although I see no reason not open source of Nintendo Switch homebrew apps, nor that I think that hijacking other's app name is the way to go and for some reason Goldleaf is more stable in my case than Tinfoil...

But why do you bother to argue with people? I mean with Tinfoil, and other apps you proved your skills, there are bugs here and there, but still its amazing piece of software. Almost all people who criticize didn't make anything, so what's the real reason why their words upset you?

Could you please list the keys we need for DZ/Tinfoil? I only want to include the keys that are required in the keys.txt. I heard adding extra keys could cause issues. So if you could please mention the keys we need (obviously without listing the keys themselves), I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Tinfoil folder must be named ‘tinfoil’. If it’s named anything else, you will get that error.

@blawar would you consider removing that error nag when using Hekate... since the modded Hekate, that works with Tinfoil, will not be updated anymore and that renders Tinfoil unusable on Hekate at some point in the future. It works, why is there this error message?

I'm not sure where you got that idea from, j00nie is releasing signed hekate binaries with his patches. Hekate 5+ is fine since j00nie is managing the patches, it is older versions of hekate that I am trying to block now.

Joonie doesn't do it anymore as of now, that's what I'm concerned about. Or do you mean that since Hekate v5 Tinfoil won't pop the error anymore? In that case that's done

All sounds profoundly unnecessary really, doesn't it?

If you have the intellectual depth of a gerbil yes. Hekate 5+ works, but must be signed so the protection can be kept up to block old versions of Hekate. It's really not that hard to figure out.

Yeah figuring it out isn't the issue. Your choice of methodology based on your petty grudges, introducing massive unnecessary complexity and still preventing people from using official binaries, is the issue.

I'm sure that pretty much no one understands why you block Hekate in the first place. Just... Remove it?

Wrong thread, but that has become a sxos license only feature. So if you own a license you can just put it on your sd card and the features should work again
