I just came here to say thanks.

Working in IT for over 15 years, I've used all the boot disk tools, yours is overall the best quality by far. It's always in my pocket on my Lacie Cookey.

The fact that you maintain it by releasing two major updates per year is fantastic.

Many thanks

Bonjour,

Sorry Jayro but when I boot the 16.10 version from a USB, it show me a screen ask me to boot Windows, Sardu boot 64 or Sardu 32 bits.
When I boot the 18.10 version, directly boot miniwindows,
I want to see the menu to go to recover options
What I can do?

You need to boot in legacy mode (CSM) without secure boot.

hi,i can boot in medicat mini but mouse and keyboard are not recognized, what can i do?
thanks
I would try different USB ports, or different mouse and keyboard. Use the ones on the back of the computer on the motherboard if possible.

Hello !

Thanks for your work =)

I have tried to use Medicat on a laptop today and there is a problem with display.
The boot menu of Medicat is not on the center of the screen and there is no prompt or cursor for navigate in them.
(It's impossible for me to publish photo because I'm a new member).

I use medicat on a USB key installed with Rufus.
Anyone already have a similar problem and do you found a solution or cause ?

Have a good day ! :)

PS : Sorry for my english, is not my cup of tea ^^

You can edit main_menu.cfg in notepad and change the screen resolution to 800x600 to see if it fixed being centered.

How to add Kali Linux? YUMI doesn't see any images on drive.
You drop the Kali Linux iso into the ISO folder, and edit main_menu.cfg to point to your Kali iso. (Copy and paste an existing entry, and just editing the iso name works)

Hi, I just started to use Medicat USB (full version with portable apps), and it works really great for me. I can't believe I never found out about this project earlier, it would have saved me so much time (I used to use Sergei Strelec), so I really appreciate your work.

One thing I would like to bring to your attention though is that Windows Defender thinks a number of programs in the PortableApps folder are a threat, and will quarantine them automatically whenever it sees them. This is not a big deal for me personally since, as a techncian I know that the ISO file is completely safe, so I was able to confidently whitelist the files on my computer. However, this does mean that one has to be extremely careful when plugging a Medicat USB into another computer, for me I have had to disable Windows Defender protection on the target computer beforehand everytime if I don't want programs on my USB deleted. Alternatively, I guess you could write-protect your USB to avoid this problem, although I can't do that with my USB for practical reasons.

It is also worth mentioning that all Medicat USBs created on Windows 10 machines will therefore be incomplete by default, unless the user is tech savy and cares enough to manually change settings in Windows Defender (which, from my experience, most people are not). In other words, the majority of Medicat USBs out there are missing programs. I don't know how much it is of concern to you as the creator of the project that many people cannot enjoy the full range of programs you intended to provide. Of course, I believe that the user should be ultimately responsible to verify the integrity of their own USB (especially since the project is free), but it would improve the user experience for a lot of people if you did something on your end. Again, the work you have done is already amazing so this is completely up to you, and I could also help if you need it. In all honesty, my knowledge in this area is not strong. One idea I could come up at the top of my head is to put the .exe files that WD considers unsafe in a .zip file, and then the user can extract these programs when they need to use it?

Zipping the apps and having them extract themselves to the TEMP folder of the RAMdisk is a great idea, as that's what Hiren's MiniXP and Mini7 did... But I don't know how to go about doing that. I can zip things of course, but I don't know what commands and stuff are needed. I will add more to the instructions in this release to let people know about disabling any real-time virus scanner and Windows Defender upon install to USB. I'll also be redoing the picture tutorial as well with the 3.x version of Rufus, and tell people to boot into Legacy mode (BIOS/CSM) for the main menu, and EFI booting for Mini Windows 10. Thanks for bringing this up, I'm curious to see if an extracting zip method would work well. And maybe a shortcut to clean the temp folder too.

Driver Talent seems to be dangerous. Kaspersky alarm and delete it.
Can you delete this app because it seems to behave like a malware with hidden ads.

Thank you

Thank you, I'll look into this during my testing, and take appropriate actions.

Hi,
Just found your Boot Suite and I would like to test it, but didn't find some info I would like to know.

* Has the OS systems persistent storage to save custom settings?
* Are the PortableApps available on W10 Live and on the running OS as a default Usb key?
* If the PortableApps are available on the W10 Live version, is allowed to install / uninstall apps?

Thank you.
