After updating to Emunand with SX OS my kids noticed some games were missing. After digging a bit, I believe those were nsp based games as xci files are still showing.
Do you believe updates are gone too ?
Can I recover (reinstall) them by browsing to a specific folder using either tinfoil or sxinstaller_v1.5 ?

Not to forget, these questions are still pending if anyone could give it a look:

I figured this would raise more questions:
1. I originally used Choidujour to update (not sure I updated Sysnand or CFW which I was using without an emunand partition). Does it make any sense?
2. How do I keep the efuses from burning and how do I know if they were burnt?
3. There are 2 NSW consoles at home (one is origianl with online the other one is the one we use with SX OS (directly booting into CFW before today). My kids use 3 usd cards for games (one I just created emunand onto and 2 others that they boot using the dongle into CFW. Now that emunand is setup you are saying I should not update to 7.0.1?
4. Should I roll back to before updating to 6.2 ?
5. If I update Sysnand to 7.0.1 (How can I even do this), won't it break SX OS ?
6. I downloaded a package (zip file) called lockpick master, now what? What do I do with this to export the keys? Is this an app to place on the usd card? Should I boot into Sysnand or emunand to retrieve the keys?

Again thanks.

Edit: How do I setup a customwallpaper? I tried themes and changed to black but I tried booting into sysnand and it was black as well.

5. Using 7.01 in Sysnand and keeping Emunand at 6.2 is the purpose of doing this isn't it? Probably some of your games disappeared because your Sysnand is not 7.0+

I thought updating sysnand to 7.0.1 would disable SX OS and screw everything up. How then can I update sysnand to 7.0.1, I don't seem to be able to connect the darn thing to the internet.

I assume you are using SXOS 2.5.3?

With a Emunand at 6.2, you can reboot the switch into OFW and update to 7.0.1 as usual.

I think many users were confused because with 3DS, it's the other way around - keeping the OFW at a low firmware version and update the Emunand to the latest one.

Hello,
- Can you please elaborate on that? How can SX OS support 7.X sysnand if it doesn't support 7.X emunand, while the 3DS does the opposite?
- Does it mean that we'll need to stay on sysnand to play backups that require 7.X ?
- Can sysnand be safely updated to 7.X using choidujourNX ?
- I have a backup of my 6.X sysnand on PC. If I screw up my sysnand update, or if a malicious game bricks my console, will I be able to reinstall that nand backup on my switch?
Thanks a lot for your answers!

6.2 Emunand will run 7.0+ games if the Sysnand is 7.01.

The answer for the rest of your questions can be found in the beginning of this thread.

- it doesn't, it only works on 6.2 (yet), regardless if it's sys or emu
- you cannot play backups on 7.x sysnand with SX os, why? See first point
- no, since that would require you to use homebrew on sysnand, which will flag you for a ban.
- yes

Thanks for your answers! @wurstpistole, I'm already banned so I don't mind updating my sysnand with choidujour if that's possible.
Though, you're the first person to tell me that sysnand 7.x is not supported by SX OS. All the others say that sysnand can be 7.x and emunand has to stay on 6.x.
I don't know who to believe anymore :(

That is right. Sysnand can be 7.x, but SX OS doesn't support 7.x, so no Sysnand booting anymore, only emunand on lower fw. I don't really understand why you would want emunand anyway if you are banned, just get rid of it and use Sysnand.
6.2 Emunand will run 7.0+ games if the Sysnand is 7.01.
I don't know how you got that idea but that is entirely wrong. Those two facts do not have any relation whatsoever. The only way you can run games requiring 7.x on lower fw is if they actually do not require the latest master key and you choose to ignore fw requirement during installation. Otherwise it won't work, no matter what fw version your sysnand is on.

Thanks! many people of this thread seemed to say that we could have SXOS + sysnand 7.x + emunand 6.x, but I'm trusting you and I'll wait for SXOS to officially support 7.x :)

PS: I keep an emunand on a banned console because I think it's easier to recover from an accidental bricking happening in the emunand, instead of a bricking happening on sysnand. I can be wrong though.

You CAN have Sysnand 7 and Emu 6.2, but with SX you can then only boot Emunand, not Sysnand anymore. If you're banned and can't play online, updating to 7.x doesn't make sense anyway at the moment. Everything you can do runs on 6.2 as well.

Ah! Okay, that's clearer. Thanks!

I'm sorry perhaps I do not understand what you say. I am running sysnand 7.0.1 for my online games and emunand 6.2 for backups. I can boot sysnand 7.0.1 perfectly when I want.

Im on 6.1.0 as of NOW from what im reading im good to stay put. I have no real intention yet to play online anymore back when 6.1.0 was ok to play online. So from what i read SX isnt supported on 7.0-7.0.1 yet... Whats really got me confused is the whole Choi-sysnand-emunand thing. Too much double backing everywhere to read...

Then you're reading old news... SX OS works perfectly fine with 7.0.1 now, and every day a few more new games and updates only work on 7.0+... have you tried to install any NSP released in the last 2 or so months (even with the old tinfoil ignore f/w trick that doesn't work after 7.0)??

So it's only a matter of time until you're begging for help with "the whole Choi-sysnand-emunand thing". Cya then.
