guys can you still update your games (on OFW) when you are on 6.x ?
not without connecting online and updating to 7.0.x iirc
exception being cfw...
guys can you still update your games (on OFW) when you are on 6.x ?
I thought updating sysnand to 7.0.1 would disable SX OS and screw everything up. How then can I update sysnand to 7.0.1, I don't seem to be able to connect the darn thing to the internet.5. Using 7.01 in Sysnand and keeping Emunand at 6.2 is the purpose of doing this isn't it? Probably some of your games disappeared because your Sysnand is not 7.0+

I assume you are using SXOS 2.5.3?
With a Emunand at 6.2, you can reboot the switch into OFW and update to 7.0.1 as usual.
I think many users were confused because with 3DS, it's the other way around - keeping the OFW at a low firmware version and update the Emunand to the latest one.
Hello,
- Can you please elaborate on that? How can SX OS support 7.X sysnand if it doesn't support 7.X emunand, while the 3DS does the opposite?
- Does it mean that we'll need to stay on sysnand to play backups that require 7.X ?
- Can sysnand be safely updated to 7.X using choidujourNX ?
- I have a backup of my 6.X sysnand on PC. If I screw up my sysnand update, or if a malicious game bricks my console, will I be able to reinstall that nand backup on my switch?
Thanks a lot for your answers!
- it doesn't, it only works on 6.2 (yet), regardless if it's sys or emuHello,

Thanks for your answers! @wurstpistole, I'm already banned so I don't mind updating my sysnand with choidujour if that's possible.- it doesn't, it only works on 6.2 (yet), regardless if it's sys or emu
- you cannot play backups on 7.x sysnand with SX os, why? See first point
- no, since that would require you to use homebrew on sysnand, which will flag you for a ban.
- yes
That is right. Sysnand can be 7.x, but SX OS doesn't support 7.x, so no Sysnand booting anymore, only emunand on lower fw. I don't really understand why you would want emunand anyway if you are banned, just get rid of it and use Sysnand. Thanks for your answers! @wurstpistole, I'm already banned so I don't mind updating my sysnand with choidujour if that's possible.
Though, you're the first person to tell me that sysnand 7.x is not supported by SX OS. All the others say that sysnand can be 7.x and emunand has to stay on 6.x.
I don't know who to believe anymore
I don't know how you got that idea but that is entirely wrong. Those two facts do not have any relation whatsoever. The only way you can run games requiring 7.x on lower fw is if they actually do not require the latest master key and you choose to ignore fw requirement during installation. Otherwise it won't work, no matter what fw version your sysnand is on.6.2 Emunand will run 7.0+ games if the Sysnand is 7.01.

You CAN have Sysnand 7 and Emu 6.2, but with SX you can then only boot Emunand, not Sysnand anymore. If you're banned and can't play online, updating to 7.x doesn't make sense anyway at the moment. Everything you can do runs on 6.2 as well. Thanks! many people of this thread seemed to say that we could have SXOS + sysnand 7.x + emunand 6.x, but I'm trusting you and I'll wait for SXOS to officially support 7.x
PS: I keep an emunand on a banned console because I think it's easier to recover from an accidental bricking happening in the emunand, instead of a bricking happening on sysnand. I can be wrong though.

Of course. But you can't boot it with SX as in, no SX for 7.x support.I'm sorry perhaps I do not understand what you say. I am running sysnand 7.0.1 for my online games and emunand 6.2 for backups. I can boot sysnand 7.0.1 perfectly when I want.

Im on 6.1.0 as of NOW from what im reading im good to stay put. I have no real intention yet to play online anymore back when 6.1.0 was ok to play online. So from what i read SX isnt supported on 7.0-7.0.1 yet... Whats really got me confused is the whole Choi-sysnand-emunand thing. Too much double backing everywhere to read...
