Do you HAVE to have a kit to hack your switch? Or can I use a homemade tool (A paperclip or sth else)?
Heaven's no. You can totally DIY it but only if you know what you're doing. I personally used a paperclip but I can't recommend it to everyone because not only is it a bit finicky, but it can possibly damage your Switch. Even a jig can potentially damage your Switch but the chance is lower than with a paperclip. If you don't want to buy a jig, you can look at this thread for a list of items that others have used for entering RCM. You will also need a USB-C cable to plug your Switch in to a computer, Android, or iOS device.

Find the game update on the interwebs and install it with a title manager such as Tinfoil, Goldleaf, Lithium, DevMenu, etc.
Ok now thats another question if I find Devmenu is there a way to install it with being connected to the internet sorrh for being a noob dont really know much about switch hacking

Hello im using SX OS EmuNAND and have a restored CLEAN sysnand which I recently updated to 7.0.1 after AMS released support. I want to know if i can go and run homebrew stuff like launching NROs from the album via the homebrew launcher or go online.
I do not have any NSPs installed to SysNAND. (only EmuNAND)
So Can I use homebrew then freely go online? (Using 90DNS alongside it)?
Or Do I have to perform restore after using homebrew?
SX OS has horrible support for homebrew and I do not want to install any NSPs on my SysNAND so yea.

You need to restore a clean NAND every time prior to going online since there may be traces of CFW and homebrew that persist. You also cannot restore the same clean NAND backup more than once when trying to evade a ban because NAND backups work like screenshots. They are a picture of what your NAND is at the time it was dumped. You can't return to that point more than once otherwise it will look fishy.

Only if you made a NAND backup with Hekate before using CFW/homebrew. If you did, restore the NAND backup with Hekate prior to going online. If you didn't, then you risk getting banned even if you boot into OFW since traces of CFW/homebrew persist after the console shuts down.

Bzzzzzzzzt wrong, sxos only works if you already have a 6.2 emunand then you can update your sysnand

but long story short, yes you can, but if you need to reinstall them for whatever reason and you end up banned then you can't access the eshop to redownload them

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

alternatively buy cart games

It sucks that the games that I want are digital download only. Namely Sega Outrun and Dragon's Lair Trilogy. There are other Sega games that I want too, but they seem to only release their classics digitally. The Genesis Classics collection is lame because the Switch can easily play the arcade versions.

So basically create a backup everytime I use homebrew from album (specifically NRO's). and if I want to go online I have to restore to a clean NAND. What happens If i want to update some homebrew stuff from online? Do I enable 90DNS? Assume My chance of ban is at 1%. Will using 90dns and homebrew and going ONLINE (NOT NINTENDO BuT ON HOMEBREW) be at 1% or increase. Since I did a restore recently anyways and have not been flagged or ban since im using a restored sysnand after i used cfw on it.

If you want to use any non-Nintendo related online services such as the homebrew appstore or online updater tools, then you can just enable something like 90DNS and use them without worrying about a ban. Doing anything while having 90DNS enabled has a 0% chance of being banned. But 90DNS simulates the effects of a ban so you cannot keep it on forever and once you remove it, you risk being banned unless you restore a clean NAND backup prior to going online in which case its anyone's guess what your risk is.

Hello, it's just dumb question if it's any faster way to transfer xci files than ftp, but without removing sd card?
There is nxmtp but its limited to files 4 GB and below so its either FTP or manually removing your SD card.
