Eipok, thanks for posting this set-up/guide. I'm very interested in doing the same thing. VC injects do not work on my system, so I would have to rely on a forwarding set-up like yours.

I've read before that SD cards are not designed for long-term use, with the constant read/write usage that games require. How are yours holding up after 9 months?

Have you figured out a way to include both GC and Wii ISOs on the same USB/SD Port 1?

Hello swankerme,

Thanks for your post!

Regarding your question, I actually don't think this would be an issue... I have played a lot of hours, and the performance and speed is still the same. I wouldn't fear anything about it.

Regarding including both GC and WII ISOs in the same place, it is not possible if we want to have the feature of playing GC games with the Wii U Gamepad through Nintendont. The ISOSs should be there, otherwise, as I want to have another USB for Wii U games, when the Nintendont tries to access to the 2nd USB where the Wii ISOS are, it throws an exception.

Hope it helps!

Regards

I have not run into this exception, but also, I do not play GCN games on the gamepad. So - if someone did not care for playing on their Gamepad - they could theoretically ditch the Port 2 USB/SD hard drive on run solely off SD?

Did you have any difficulties getting USB Loader GX to recognize your titles on your Port 1 drive? I have tried three different methods - a 32 GB SanDisk flash drive, a 64 GB SanDisk microSD adapted through USB, and another off-brand 32 GB flash drive. No matter which I chose, USB Loader GX would not recognize them. As such, I am using WiiFlow Lite, running only off the SD card, and it works flawlessly.

Hello swankerme,

To answer your first question, firstly, I have to ask you what do you want?

Regarding the USB Loader GX, you should "play" with the Loader's IOS (I have 58) and Game's IOS (I have 251), to make games visible, plus, you should use a FAT 32 USB/HDD using the Wii BackUp Manager program to put Wii games on it (GCN BackUp Manager for GC games).

What about vbagx and fceugx? are as well updated with WiiU Gamepad Support?
Yesterday both and a new update of snes9xGX are released. They are compatible now with Wii U Gamepad like the readme.txt says but I cant inject them even like a channel forwarder. Did you had success?
Another question is: Did you tried the new snes9xRX fork?

I will try it again, once the 4.4.1 has been released, maybe now it is fixed...

I will let you know!

Dope setup, Eipok. Very good, I want to follow your idea of putting fceugx and snesgx on the wii U menu. Although I seem to be stumped- if you're using forwarders would you happen to still have the forwarders to both those apps and can send me them? That would be really great!
If you don't it's all good, do you remember how you added those apps to your wii u home menu?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hey, nevermind I found it in OP. Thanks so much!

***Disclaimer: this is my Ultimate setup, not the Ultime one, in general terms.

Hello all!

After I have been testing and testing and testing many different combinations and devices, I have got to the Final WiiU Configuration.
It is not the cheapest, but at least, the most comfortable and usable.

Thank you again for your post. I read your post in detail and downloaded the attachment. This is very great.
But it didn't solve my problem.

I want to play Gamecube games with wiiu gamepad. I know Nintendont forwarder vwii wup can do it.

But I am very unlucky, my wiiu can't use it. As the following post says black screen

gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-play-gamecube-ps1-n64-games-from-the-wiiu-gamepad.489122/

Note: For some users, the game may result in a black screen. As of right now, there is no explanation to this phenomenon or how to fix it. If this is the case, you won't be able to use method 1 or 2 in this section. Use the "All in One" method instead in Section III below as a workaround.

So I can only use Section III, But there is a problem, the author removed the download link because of copyright issues.

I can't find 'vWii Homebrew Channel with gamepad support'
I think this should be a wup HBC

and run "Homebrew Channel" from the Wii U home menu that you just installed. It will ask if you want to use the gamepad as a controller.

I don't have this, and I won't make it. I know another post, @FIX94 has provided the production method.

gbatemp.net/threads/v-wii-homebrew-channel-open-sourced.450288/page-6 #113

But I don't understand. I have been looking for it(HBC WUP vWii Homebrew Channel with gamepad support) for a week.

If you can give me some help, I will be very grateful.
thank you for your help.

Hello Wflygm,

Firstly I wanted to thank you for taking my post into account!

Secondly, about your will of playing GC games with WiiU GamePad, I will ask you some questions, that in case of my setup with Nintendon't method, are sharply needed:
-> Have you hacked the vWii?
-> Have you put the Nintendon't app under \apps\Nintendont?
-> Have you put the GC in the SD?
-> Have you installed my Nintendon't version found under SD\install\04.Nintendont?
-> Have you choosen my below configuration:

7uspKos.jpg

-> In case every above things are confirmed, try earase all the hack on the Wii U and erase the SD (putting afterwards the copy of my SD) and start over.

Hope it helps!

Best regards

Hi eipok, thanks for all the time and effort you have spent on this post! :bow:Having built previous (disclaimer my ultimate! no haters thanks...:teach:) ultimate original Wiis before, your SD card is a great foundation to build my own. I have used Techmoon's WiiVC injector to bring Wii Earth to the Wii U front menu. My next objective is a media player install - I like WiiMC which I have working nicely in WiiVC, to get it working with hard drive access from the Wii U menu. Even with the limited current functionality of WiiMC - video, picture, mp3, SHOUTcast radio are all working (SHOUTcast TV, and YOUTUBE are unfunctional, probably DVD playback also - I have not tested this on Wii U. DVD works on some original Wii's). Anyhoo, just wanted to send you a big THANK YOU for sharing your system! :toot:

Brickmaker,

Nice work! The icon for GC on your WiiU home page - is that a forwarder for Nintendont? I personally prefer choosing GC games in USB Loader GX to see the box art.

Yes, the GC icon is a forwarder. I have it for an option only to figure out later, as it seems to not work with USB drives. I am also using USB loader GX for both Wii & GC, as I have my original FAT32 Wii drive. The OP eipok has shared this forwarder in his SD card link on the first page. :)

Hello brickmaker!

I am so glad that you find my info and my dedication useful :D

It is actually the first time I see my forwarder injections with my icons in others console :D So happy to see that!

Just a couple of questions/request:
- Where did you find the Loadiine GX2 forwarder?
- Could you share it with me please?

@XC-3730C, Regarding your question: The icon for GC on your WiiU home page - is that a forwarder for Nintendont?
[Eipok] That forwarder is only intended to launch GC games with the feature of playing them through the WiiU GamePad.

Best regards!

Hello Eipok, I will attach a link to the Loadiine GX2 forwarder (if I can on newbie!) to this message later today. I have tested it working with both e-store and normal Wii U titles (only a few at this stage). The installation is like a PC game hack in that you install the program, then replace the main file once installed. The forwarder version of this won't exit from it without loading a game and then exiting that game. I was thinking that a hack workaround for this minor issue would be a loadiine title named "EXIT" which goes back to the WiiU menu. I just liked the shortened step of not having to use HBL.

:) Cheers!

It was from gbatemp! https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-loadiine-forwarder-channel.455939/

I just read that I'm not supposed to share links yet, hopefully that doesn't include internal gbatemp links...

Hello Brickmaker,

Thank you very much for your answer!

I actually think that I remember that I installed it once, time ago, and I didn't manage it to work properly. Nevertheless, I will try to do it once again and I will let you know.

Best regards

Hi Eipok,

Sorry by advance for my poor english...

I've just bought a Wii-U in used condition for my daughter.
I begin to have a look to all wii-u hacks and it seems that your post is one of the most recent one.

I've quite good knowledges in systems, hardware and software (i'm a developper with 20 years of experience)

Here, what i'd like to achieve :

- play wii-u Games (that i plan to install in USB Up Slot)
- play wii Games (USB Down Slot))
- play GameCube games (so on SDcard)
- play MAME32 roms

Do all this games are playable on the Wii-U gamePad ?
I have compressed roms for Dolphin (Wii & GameCube), can i just uncompressed them and use them ?

For now, i haven't found any post/tutorial on how to install MAME.
I suppose i have to use retroArch ? Do you know a guide for that ?
I suppose roms must be installed on the SDCard ?

Thanks by advance.

retroarch is buggy mess... anytime my girlfriend tries to play anything it inevitably corrupts the cfg file and i need to mount my sd card and delete the cfg file. and re setup everything. retroarch is definitely not more user friendly than the gx emulators. on paper retroarch seems better, but in practice, its not user friendly because of the way you need to use it. (i setup playlists properly, its just how often the cfg file corrupts based on what core you load

Hello Laf111,

I am glad that a father do his daughter to be able to play this wonderful console!

I can help you in everything except on MAME32 emulation, because it is one that I didn't put any attention on.

About your direct questions:
Do all this games are playable on the Wii-U gamePad ?
-> You will be able to play everything on the WiiU GamePad except the Wii games.

I have compressed roms for Dolphin (Wii & GameCube), can i just uncompressed them and use them ?
-> To put the games of the GameCube in the SD you need to use the GCN BackUp Manager (https://wii.scenebeta.com/noticia/dmlconv), and to put the games of the Wii in the USB, you need to use the Wii BackUp Manager (http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/downloads.html)

retroarch is buggy mess... anytime my girlfriend tries to play anything it inevitably corrupts the cfg file and i need to mount my sd card and delete the cfg file. and re setup everything. retroarch is definitely not more user friendly than the gx emulators. on paper retroarch seems better, but in practice, its not user friendly because of the way you need to use it. Hello Slimpyman,

I totally agree with you... GX Emulators are much more stable and playable comparte to Retroarch world...

Best!
