Nintendo Switch Online NES games for March 2019 revealed

Last month saw the addition of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby's Adventure to Nintendo's Switch Online NES lineup. This time around, for March 2019, Nintendo has revealed that Kid Icarus and StarTropics will be the new games for the month, with both being playable starting on March 13th. Kid Icarus is an action platformer, and the first game in the eponymous series, which originally released in 1986. StarTropics is a top down adventure game, which has players explore various island villages in an attempt to rescue the player character's uncle from aliens. Both games will be available to anyone with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

There's no guarantee that will ever happen. Whether or not it's mentioned in code means nothing when it comes to Nintendo .

Even more reason not to pay online for drab NES games.

No offense to Nintendo but being able to pick and choose games you want to download was so much better than having NES games I don't give a crap about shoved down my throat.

It's time they start offering other consoles.

It's up to them what they offer. No doubt whatever they came uo with, you'd manage to find something to complain about, anyway.

None of that, however alters the fact that in no way are the NES games being "shoved down your throat", as you previously claimed...

Perhaps, but maybe if it used the older VC model it used before, and how we actually were were able to choose what to buy, maybe I wouldn't complain.

I use RetroArch, just not on Switch, not until homebrew installation is easy to do as Wii and Wii U were. Hackers do what Nintendont and there's nothing they can do to stop it.
the switch is what made me love retroarch. up until now i used to hate it so much. if you have seen my previous posts complaining about 3ds/ wii u versions

Wii U version isn't bad, and actually supports the XMB GUI, 3DS version is...IDK, I've tried it and I get a lot of screen tearing on Genesis Plus GX, Snes9x 2010 can't seem to maintain 60 fps on the N3DS. Maybe it got better, I haven't used it months. Switch has a lot of potential for homebrew, I just don't see myself risking my console to install it. I've stopped paying for NSO because I find it to be useless for my Switch needs.

Hmm, that was the least of my worries; you'd think that the N3DS having an 800 MHz clockspeed would have helped, but I guess it couldn't be fully utilized. How Nintendo got full speed Snes emulation is beyond me. I wished more power could've been used, it would have been perfect for 3DS.

i think they were just too lazy to address and solve the lag problems with retroarch.

What's weird is other ports of RetroArch, i.e. PC port, has the improved lag and even a lag free option in the menu, but comes at a slight performance cost. So lag isn't even an issue on my PC, with my XB1 controller. Sorry to get off topic, I just have zero faith in Nintendo's handling of older games, I'd rather get the VC back, at least it was nice.
