there are only 45 entries? I don't feel like I'm half way in the story, even though I am based on number of met sages, I thought the game's main story would be longer.
Okay, thank you :)

vic :
I thought the quest log number was a good idea to also prevent spoiling the city's name to people who didn't reach it yet.

you can know if my spoiler has anything spoiling to you if you know where you are in the story.
look at your quest log in the game's main menu, there's a numbered story progress.
if you are at "story progress 004" then you obviously would be spoiled by looking at my post because I posted a picture related to "story progress 019".
I also mentioned I was at the 3rd city, so people who are in the second one shouldn't look inside, and people who are past that city can look at it.

Of course, that's only possible for linear games, and I guess it's only linear up to "story log 045"? so you are right it might be difficult to explain after it becomes non linear. I guess continent name? or level name in that case, even though by itself it can be a spoil.
Your spoil text is fine to me, I'm at 20h of gameplay, and still don't have access to "random place around the world" so I won't look into it. thanks for adding it :)

This is not "just" a translation patch where comments are only useful to the team, it's a community and we are all working together to improve it. you are too, by reporting bugs and issues, to improve it.
I'm curious to see what other players are reporting that I might have missed for the story or area I've already done.

Thanks a lot for the patch! :D
Question: how are people finding it without the physical spells book? Can you look them up in-game like you could on the PS3 version?
You can't look at the book in-game.
The translation patch is released with a pdf version of the magic book, you'll have to be able to refer to that pdf while playing (phone, computer, printing it?)
This pdf is specifically written for that english patch, and is not identical than the PS3 version.

Quest log number shouldn't matter to anyone because it's basically the same as the case of a game telling you how many hours of gameplay are inside. Not a spoiler in my opinion. Think one entry = 1 hour. Cyan is at 019 with 20 hours, so since there are 45 entries, it should take him 45 hours to complete the game.

I didn't talk about quests, but about story log. the left tab, not the right tab.
sorry if I mistaken the names.
I don't understand why this is so bothering, I just want everyone to be kind and prevent spoil as best as possible. write whatever you want in your spoiler tag, as long as it's helpful to others and not empty. if not quest number, put town name, dungeon name, etc.. that's all I asked.

so far, for me, the game is still linear and I thought it would be until the end. it's not? my bad.

Oh... Never read right quest tab. Sorry, now i understand what You mean! My apologies!

Anyway, i want to add a little.
When fighting final boss, in his final form (3rd battle in a row), he can send death wave on your party, and you got a message on a lower screen something like "You got some P" and that's all, something is missing. It appears only for a short period of time, so i didn't photograph it, but maybe someone near the fight - be prepare to note it more accurately.

Hello,

here's my week report :)

spoil location : This is on third town.

Location: Bikini bay

spelling mistake 1 : First glace -> First Glance
View attachment 157680

Spelling mistake 2 : Villian -> Villain
View attachment 157681
This one is more technical, maybe even present in the original game.
In the cauldron recipe, it tells me I need a "Freezing spear" and have 0, but at the same time on the other line already tells me I have 1!
I verified in my item menu, and the freezing spear is equipped to an imagen. so, I have X1 but can't use it to create items. that's probably not a real bug, just the way the game works.

Could someone tell me how many "quest log" there is in the story, just to know the % I am?
I'm currently "019", I suppose there will be more than 100 because there are 3 digits.

Vicviper-V :
Maybe you could add the information about the spoil ?
[ spoiler= here your spoil info, for example like me the "story log" progress]

A spoiler tag, without spoil information is kind of useless. I had to open it to see if it's something which spoils me or not, and it is.

what exactly is the spelling error?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

fwiw: Whenever I find a spelling error i send an email to Anjira via gmail. Is that still the correct way to go?

I don't print a physical book in color of 350+ pages, but the link is on my desktop to a downloaded pdf file, works wonders. Plus, for the relevant info order of spells, riddles and such I write them in a nnk diary. Since I already know I will replay it, it should speed up that playthrough.

The pdf also has several spelling errors, also mailed them to Anjira, and because of that I wasn't in the mood to print the book yet.

I use the gmail too, but never got an answer to questions or messages so I don't know if it's seen or not.
I also post here so other users can see what I report, and see if I missed anything, etc. and I know Anjiera will come and see the posts here.

I wrote the spelling error in the post you quoted, but english is not my first language so I may be wrong.
villian -> villain (the i is misplaced), unless villian exists too (maybe UK/US word difference? I know more US than UK spellings in general)
glace -> glance (missing N)

Need some help with some sidequests. I've just finished the first part of Bikini Bay and I'm now back in Babanacia. Need advice on the following quests:

007 - An Effective Throat Remedy - anyone know where to find Bumbler Honey?

010 - Defeat the Hubber Blubber - do I need the boat for this one?

021 - Imagen Investigagor - what are the requirements for this? I've captured two fire Imagen (Sun from the world map and the imp-ish monster from Dekarock which uses Fireball). Sun has evolved once but quest giver won't accept it.

084 - Chopster Bounty! - can't find this one. I've searched all along the world map east of Babanacia.

Any help would be appreciated!

007 - Bumblers are the flower monsters from the forest north of Babanacia/south of Catnap.

010 - yes

021 - Get the bird thing (I forget the name) from the volcano. It's resistant to phys.

084 - Whenever there is a bounty quest that says it's in a certain cardinal direction and it doesn't seem to be there, check the opposite (west). For some reason a bunch of them are mixed up.

Thanks a lot for the reply! 084 was actually in the west like you said. Also found the others :D

I can crash the game consistently by using the heal spell from the learnt spells menu option and attempting to apply it to a party member when in a dungeon. Using healing items from the menu in the same situation have not had the same effect.

I am currently in the sewer dungeon in Catnap Kingdom and have hard locked my DS each time I have tried.

EDIT: Gone back to my save in town and tried to use heal in the overworld. As my party were at full health it said 'this isn't necessary' or words to that effect, but STILL hung the whole DS immediately after.

I am playing on a CycloDS flash card with the modified arm patch. Everything has worked other than this so far, including sleep mode.

this game is very big, and I don't know if it works on WiiU's VC NDS inject.
I even try on Switch NDS emulator, but it didn't work either :P

injectiine is used to replace the rom.zip of another installed VC NDS ?
maybe you need to try with a lot of host (original game) and replace rom.zip to see which one works best. try with the biggest game you can find.

Since we got the DS WiFi ressurected somehow, could we make this work with the translated NiNoKuni? We could get the daily Gazette and all the special downloads, and maybe even fight online.
Is it possible?

The Japanese one works github's Project Polaris, not sure if it could connect to the English patched from as well - you need to use either gameshark codes or their altwfc patch to be able to access it (so you'd have to patch the English patched rom). There's also a new project that allows you to connect to wifi without patching the rom, but I haven't tried that one and I'm not sure if they offer DLC as well.

Do Japanese saves work with the translated version? If yes, one could download the content on an untranslated version, then patch it and use the Japanese save. There are also new 0% progress saves with all the DLC content uploaded on GBAtemp.

By nature of this being a patch and not a localization, the save works between English patched and raw rom file. People routinely switch between patched/unpatched to get past some bugs that cause it to crash.

Great! In that case everyone just needs to patch thier game to work wth the altwfc servers, and then you can get the DLC from there.
