You need to create the emunand when your sysnand is 6.2, it's just a clone of sysnand, if you have sysnand 7.0 already then it's too late.Is there a step by step guide on how to do this? I'm using SX OS.
My OFW is 5.1 can I just create emunand and then update both? Emunand through choiudor and not sure how to update OFW after that
- backup memory card and all your save files using checkpoint
- boot to sxos menu
- choose option
- choose emunand
- choose hidden partition emunand (memory card will be formatted)
- wait till finished
Booting to cfw will auto boot to your emunand then booting normally will boot to your sysnand. You can also have the option to update your sysnand to 7.0.1 thru normal update process.
I haven't been banned since i got my SXOS last year (around July) but i am only sticking on XCI and always offline when on CFW. I also recently used emunand too since there is no support (yet) with 7.X firmware and i need to play online game from time to time. As long as you don't go online and if possible stick with XCI then you should be safe.Thank you! I'm getting a 256GB microSD card so I will do this. Hopefully this helps me avoid a ban for as long as possible (I know it's still a possibility, but oh well)
I think it is better to create an emunand as files on SD.Thank you! I'm getting a 256GB microSD card so I will do this. Hopefully this helps me avoid a ban for as long as possible (I know it's still a possibility, but oh well)
Isn't NXMTP can do the same where you can access your NAND folder location? so basically you can copy it all over to your PC anytime even if your emunand is hidden or not.I think it is better to create an emunand as files on SD.
So you can copy them to your pc as backup.
In case you do something wrong on the emunand on micro sd.
You can delete them and copy the backup back to your micro sd again.
I am assuming that NXMTP allow you to access to files on microsd by running this homebrew application and connect your switch to PC via USB A to C cable.Isn't NXMTP can do the same where you can access your NAND folder location? so basically you can copy it all over to your PC anytime even if your emunand is hidden or not.
It will also allow you to access your Nand (user folder or saved folder) just like SX installer.I am assuming that NXMTP allow you to access to files on microsd by running this homebrew application and connect your switch to PC via USB A to C cable.

But we can do the same by shutting down the switch, remove micro sd and plug it in the pc.
So if you are using emutype as files on sd, the files will be created at \sxos\emunand (total size is around 29.1GB)
But if you are using hidden partition, (I have not tried it) but from the name, I imagine that it will resize your current microsd partition and create one one hidden partiton.
And I have no idea how to access to this hidden partition to get boot0 boot1 and all the nand dump.
But the whole emunand does not only have User or System. It will also allow you to access your Nand (user folder or saved folder) just like SX installer.
Agree its just that its SX who recommend to use the hidden partition emunand. I will be honest that i didnt think of backing up of emunand in future since i have 6.2 rawnand anyway and saved file is the only important thing for me.But the whole emunand does not only have User or System.
Anyway, I just share my opinion that it is easier to manage with just normal copy operation from windows.
You can use any method you are comfortable with to make a backup of your emunand.
