Goldleaf - A Nintendo Switch multipurpose homebrew tool

Goldleaf

Goldleaf is a multipurpose homebrew tool for Nintendo Switch!

Goldleaf.1.jpg

Similar to the well-known 3DS homebrew FBI, Goldleaf serves as a file browser/manager/editor, title manager, user account manager... and more!

Let Goldlead make your life easier while dealing with more or less technical Nintendo Switch stuff!

Hey guys, I haven't been following switch homebrew recently so I just learnt about goldleaf as the new nsp installer for switch, I have been having tons of issues with it, none of the nsps I have tried installing install properly, or don't install at all and throw a fatal error every time I try installing them, sometimes half of the ncas in a nsp get installed then it throws the same fatal error, is this a bug with goldleaf? For those who will ask, my SD card is formatted as fat32.

I consistently get error 0x234a02 no matter what I try to install. I feel like it got less stable with 0.4, but that might be confirmation bias.

Edit:

I posted this below, but switching to Atmosphere made everything work perfectly. Literally zero problems now.

Maybe a lil' bit late, but sorry for any problems Goldleaf v0.4 might have caused, as it was released pretty quickly without checking for bugs.
Reason for this? Wanted to start with the rewrite v0.5 would require ASAP.

v0.5 is going to be the most stable update, with great USB, and several other features.
Expect at least 1 or perhaps 2 weeks as I'll be busy this period of time. And again, sorry for any problems v0.4 might have caused. v0.5 will fix (most of) them!

I was using Reinx and switched to Atmosphere by way of Kosmos and I haven't had any trouble since. My switch is on 6.0.0 (because I can't be arsed to update).

I had maybe a dozen installations in a row fail until I switched to Atmosphere and now I installed 3 NSPs in a row perfectly.

Take your time! Thank you for your work!

Will goldleaf support install directly over FTP in the future? This is the only feature I'm missing.

I'm trying to remove some titles using Goldleaf 0.4. I went into the manage titles section scrolled down to Tales of Vesperia and selected to remove it and then removed the update as well. They are no longer showing up in the list in Goldleaf or on the switch menu but the free space didn't change at all. It should have cleared 13gb but both Goldleaf and the system app are showing 2gb free still.

<edit>
I tried installing something with tinfoil and 15gb appeared on my sdcard so it seems to have removed the leftover folders

Thank you, this has become my default file browser when I want to look at things while on the switch itself. The only thing missing is network install.

For the convenience I got everything setup with nut-gui and Tinfoil but I'm finding TinfoiI prone to failure. I still need to use goldleaf as a last resort, it would be great to just start there.

Hello
I am just getting into GoldLeaf now, as I have been away from the Switch hacking community for a while and I last used GoldLeafs predecessor, Tinfoil to install games, updates etc.

I am very excited about Goldleafs feature of being able to "install" custom themes, but I have a few questions surrounding this. I see that I have to reboot my switch for any theme changes to take effect, so:

1. Am I correct in assuming, that if I combine this feature with the "reboot to Payload" homebrew and autoboot, I can essentially facilitate Theme switching on the fly? (God I hope so:yay:)

2. How does the Theme switching work? Like, can I change the background of pretty much every menu, eg, Lockscreen, Home Menu, Settings etc, or is it just the home menu for now? If yes, can I select a "premade custom theme package" which automatically changes all possible menus at the same time?

3. With GoldLeaf 0.4 apparently containing quite a few bugs, am I better off using 0.3 until 0.5 arrives?

4. Would I need to reinstall the Goldleaf nsp each time a new update arrives, or can I just copy-paste the new version to my SD Card and the nsp would still work fine?

Version 7.0.0 fucked up some FS commands Goldleaf and old Tinfoil used to mount NCAs (simple as that NCAs can no longer be mounted from SD card), so normal installs don't work, while USB should work as always.

Not bad sigpatches nor atmosphere's fault, but a change (which seems to be a removed debug feature) on FS services.

v0.5 will fix this issue, so don't worry.

I don't know if it's related, but try 0.3 instead of 0.4, or wait for 0.5
latest is not always better. sometime there are new bugs not present in previous versions.
